How long will these psychedelic mushrooms last?
 

My uh.. friend bought an ounce of psychedelic mushrooms. He hasn't taken any, yet, but has heard from many people that these ones are really great, and lot's of fun.

He's going to be travelling (Internationally) for the next several months (banging as many hotties as he can) and wonders if they'll still be good when he gets back. If he bangs enough hotties, it could even be a year before he comes home and gets a chance to take the shrooms.

So will they still be fresh? How long do shrooms last? Should he package them in any special way?

Tell your friend to put them in the freezer; they'll be fine anyway stale I would imagine...

They should be fine if they started out nicely dry. Put them in a fairly airtight container in a drawer. Light and humidity damage them.

I've known people to use them after three years stored like that, and they seemed as strong as when brand new.

Let them dry so they won't mold (but keep them out of the sun! Psilocybin is light/heat sensitive) then keep them in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. They'll last for many months (years even) like this, but potency will decrease with time.

i've had shrooms sitting wrapped up in a cigarette pack for at least 5-6 years now. think they are any good? also have a couple hits of acid in tin foil from 1999. doubt that is any good though.

Keep them in an air tight container out of light... they should be 90-95% as strong as new after a year.

Ancient navajo technique

putting them in the freezer will not render them useless. i had a friend that kept a large amount in the freezer for a long time and they didnt lose a bit of potency...believe me.

We used to grind them up in a coffee bean grinder and then put the grinds into gel caps. Never kept them longer then a few weeks though

slow boil them, drain them and keep the juice. freeze the juice. when you come back, unthaw it, and make tea

Bury them in a ten inch deep hole in the garden, and take a piss on them...
This does several things, such as make the shrooms feel that they are back with nature, so being more relaxed the shrooms stop stressing so much, and enjoy the soil... That stops them from feeling poorly and loosing their impact... Also your piss stops the dog digging them up...
