He's a guy who is (was?) a photographer/content provider, who decided to open a paysite with absolutely no experience in traffic generation, conversions, or member retention.
He's figured a couple of things out on his own and every time he learns something he comes and posts about it here like he invented it.
Even with the things he's figured out he's clueless about the other 80% of running a successful paysite, yet he feels the need to argue with the pros who have been doing it for years.
For some reason he thinks that because his conversion ratios are X, and his retention is Y, and his overhead costs Z, that EVERYONE in the biz has those same numbers, it's really sad.

He also likes to make shit up to make himself look important/successful/innovative in an attempt to get affiliates to promote his program. He's been caught red-handed doing this a few times (the "who says cheap porn sites don't work) is a good example of that.

His posts are useless, like the police department in Columbia.

Yes I fucked up because I did not check my programmers work. One CCBILL link did not work, all the Webstream ones were useless.

Then you guys picked it up and continually bumped the thread on a board read by surfers. And you blasted it on other boards popular with surfers. I saw the traffic and joins, all you saw was the chance to flame me. Thank you guys. :thumbsup

The bottom line is that a sucessfull business model is may not be sucessfull for everyone. I doubt the way I run my company would work for everyone but it keeps my fat wife in food and not nagging me so I am fine.

You think traffic generation, conversions, or member retention are the key. I agree. But we look at it from different perspectives. You look at it from one and I look at it from another. My view is the porn is the most important thing. It's what stops the surfer, keeps him looking, makes him move, and finally gets him to buy and stay.

The answer to my question is obvious, they don't do it because so few sites would sell if the surfer saw what they were buying. Their ratios would be worse, they are scared to show the surfer everything he's buying.

I am who I am and too old to change. The business is mostly made up with experienced people, but as we all know, and most sponsors try to encourage, new guys come in every day. So you know everything I say. Great, but some do not.

With checking CCBILL affiliate coding. I don't know if it covers everything and only showed how it works on CCBILL. I did not know how to check and I'm sure others do not know. In fact I saw it on my stats that some did not know. Maybe the experienced would rather keep the newbie ignorant?

The $5 sites, I can see how some sponsors and affiliates are scared about sites cutting prices, but like it or not, the future will be more flexible prices and not trials. Also the conversion ratios up to the main site, another $5 site later and upsells and cross sells are awesome. But the idiots chose to bump the thread again and again and not look at their possibilities.

I opened an affiliate program that nearly three years later is still going, still supporting and paying affiliates and doing nicely. For a clueless guy it shows how easy running a paysite is.
