what NEARBY Los Angeles isn't too expensive to live?
 

Are there any far away suburbs of Los Angeles that doesn't have the high as hell prices? Say far away enough to where daily commuting wasn't necessary.

Lets see... Long Beach is pretty cheap, but only the ghetto run down areas, you know like where Snoop used to live.

Compton and Watts are pretty cheap too. Lots of gangs and crime though, so best not to go out at night.

yep. i have two houses here. i lived in Los Angeles for a year and a half and got the fuxors outta that rat hole.

Dude there are lots of ghetto crack whores near the corner of Sherman Way and Woodman in the san fernando valley... (aka "The Valley") You'd find lots of girls near there.

Maybe east los angeles.

I live in ventura county if 500k starting price for a house is cheap this this is a good place.

I work 10 steps out my back door, but once I was at a friends house in Valencia (I know it's not anywhere near Ventura, but they both start with "V's" and so it reminded me of this)

So I was at their house and we cam back into LA at a little after 5... FFFUUUUCCCCKK!!!! I have never really needed to be anywhere during rush hour in LA, but daaayyyyuumm.. I literally saw a line of cars that was at least 5 sometimes 6 lanes wide go all the way from Valencia to north hollywood where we live. We were moving pretty quick since we were going INTO LA, but coming out.. fuck that noise. It was SOLID bumper to bumper and BARELY crawling for like 30 miles.

1 mile an hour for 30 miles is... well fuck it, you do the math!

All depends where in "LA" you need to be or work... LA is a large sprawling area unlike most other cities...

Pasadena is expensive...I live in Glendale which is more expensive than Pasadena...although North Hollywood or Hollywood is cheaper...

rule of thumb... east - cheaper, west - not as cheap

we lived in the Valley for a while, Reseda to be exact, and it wasn't exactly cheap...800sq ft apartment, surrounded by mexicants, $1000 a month

we now have a 3 bedroom 2200 sq ft house, 2 car garage, front and back yard for less than that 800 sq ft in the valley

I live in ventura/oxnard/camarillo off the 101 traffic is not so bad, nothing compared to LA only when there is an accident is the traffic slow. The weather is very nice doesnt get too cold and doesnt get too hot. I lived in palmdale for a year and its pretty dam hot there and it gets windy.

But im moving to arizona at the end of the year and i will probably melt in the summer there.

It depends on how much you want to spend, and how far of a commute you are willing to bear.

Canyon Country...but christ that place looks like a penal colony from the highway and not much better from within.

San Fernando Valley has many homes for sale that are inexpensive... Check :)

Long Beach is still affordable if you're looking to rent, if you're looking to buy it's still reasonable but quickly appreciating.
