Today I did something I've never done before...

On a picinic at a park I snatched crawdads from a creek, it was hella-fun! Brought 'em home and dumped them in a 55 gallon dream-come-true. I caught 5 but 1 didn't make it...

kickas ! Did you mix them with fishes ?

madawgz 09-04-2006 01:24 AM

interresting little critters :)

Chrome 09-04-2006 01:27 AM

not sure but you might want to run a bubbler in your pond/55gallon drum if you're going to try to keep them alive. I don't think they live in stagnant water. You could just boil em up and suck day heads with some corn bread.

com 09-04-2006 01:29 AM

No I didn't, I learned my lesson a year ago. The aquarium was teaming with life when I bought an Austrailian Blue Freshwater Lobster...

Within a month he'd decimated all life in that tank. They're sneaky and very agressive. They'll dig tunnels and fox holes to hide in and when prey swims by - CRUNCH!

germ 09-04-2006 02:30 AM

you should eat them.

There is an annual Crawdad festival not far from you in Isleton. Good times if you like to drink and feed on these things.

Deraj 09-04-2006 04:43 PM

you can catch those up here in washington state too

Red Ezra 09-04-2006 04:48 PM

Spunky 09-04-2006 05:02 PM

Keep sticking your hand under there and you'll learn another lesson. Dunno about the blue (lobster?) but a crawfish bit my finger once and wouldn't let go until I smashed it into 1000 pieces. By bit I mean with their mouth not the pinchers, this was 100 times worse and was painful as hell!
