I've hard good and bad things about it... If I really wanted to save gas money, I'd buy a smart car, they are awesome.

Very nice. Thanks for the article. Cool hacks. Insane gas savings!

Doctor Dre 07-22-2006 10:55 PM

btw smart cars are getting pretty good colision ratings unlike we would think... and it goes pretty fast too... the miles per galon is insane.

I'm just too big to ride in one of theses cars.

RawAlex 07-22-2006 11:00 PM

I drove one for a while, freaky cool car, but a bit like getting into a video game. Nothing happens when you get in... it is pretty freaky to deal with.

Good car, great mileage, and runs fine in traffic no BS.

Kimo 07-22-2006 11:10 PM

id like to buy a prius

Double L 07-22-2006 11:15 PM

I like the Camry hybrid at first glance of looks and specs. Id have to drive them all to really say though.

OY 07-22-2006 11:59 PM

My dad bought one. He lives in Norway where 1gallon of gas is about 8-9 dollars. Go figure...

Cash 07-23-2006 02:17 AM

I'd love to drive a Toyota Prius, maybe the next car I buy, after several years, if another better one doesn't show up ...

lolz.

cliffom 07-23-2006 03:23 AM

I've been thinking of getting one. I really want to go test drive one though I have ridden in one. Takes some getting used to when the car starts moving and it is dead silent.

Is there still a waiting list at most dealers to pick up one of these?

CurrentlySober 07-23-2006 03:36 AM

I Am Not Lieing...

But people who i tell this to allways say I am...

2/3 Years ago. Rent Prius From Hert z In Thousand Oaks...
Its last car availible BECAUSE NOBIODY WANTS IT !!!!

Fill car with gas: Then... Thousand Oaks To SF Valley, All over valley 3 / 4 times, Back to Thousand Oaks (NEXT DAY) Thousand Oaks To Downtown LA Then back To Thousand Oaks... (NEXT DAY) Thaousand oaks to Desrt Hot Springs... (FOR GETAWAY BREAK (NEXT DAY) All ovewr desrt hot springs... (NEXT DAY) Back To thousand Oaks. REFILLED CAR IN Thousand Oaks...
I KID YEE FUCKING NOT... ONE TANK OF FUCKING GAS !!!!

Then next day I drove to phoniex, Fell asleep at the wheel, and wrote it off in a swerve off the road and fly through the air accident, which was described by the trucker behind me, who had witnessed it and stopped to assist. as "Fucking Amazing Dude ! Wow That Looked Great from NBack there..."\

A lot of Aussies are dumping their typical family sized 6/8 cyl cars and going for smaller ones, but many are losing money by selling too soon in the car's life - before the depreciation losses taper off. No point selling off your "gas guzzler" at a $5k loss when it's going to take 3 years to recoup that in petrol savings with your smaller car... which will also have depreciated significantly in that time!

V12 For Life!!!

woj 07-23-2006 05:19 AM

I don't think you actually save much by buying a car like that, unless you drive a lot and gas prices are $10/gallon or something...

Trax 07-23-2006 05:41 AM

id rather walk then drive this piece of shit
no kidding

DutchTeenCash 07-23-2006 05:47 AM

You see them a lot here since we have 2k gov tax deduction on them.

They look shit imho plus every test they do here tells that a TDI engine (injected diesel fuel) is even more enviromental friendly.

Plus look at service intervals and costs. Theyre huge.

If you go for a hybride check out the RX300 one or I belief Ford has one too in the US.

AmateurWealth 07-23-2006 06:12 AM

could pick up an old Mercedes sd300 and get 40 MPG....a LOT cheaper...

ServerGenius 07-23-2006 06:21 AM

I can't wait till we get Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered cars on the market.
Hydrogen is a much more powerfull than fuel and it's made out of plain water.

ServerGenius 07-23-2006 06:28 AM

Here's a nice article about a merceded prototype. Hydrogen Fuel Cells Rock!

They are the future for sure...i thought i heard they were recalled in recent years or a similar model...i am sure that they can run perfect and they have had the technology for year; however, the oil leaders have been holding this product back..

Mr. Romance

I hope it gets even more miles per gallon in the future. A more powerful engine would surely help as well.

ProducerCashDave 07-23-2006 02:45 PM

Not into the prius

crockett 07-23-2006 02:57 PM

They are ugly as hell.. try one of the new rabits from VW if you want a small car..

Those cars are pricey.

i saw holes on polish roads that easily make a Smart disappear :1orglaugh

besides that - i know some heterosexual guys that drive a Smart and are quite happy with it.

personally i don't like the plastic interior and this evil automatic shifting that makes you nod with every shift - but you get used to it

tranza 07-23-2006 07:42 PM

I'd have one if they weren't more expensive than BMWs over here...

Doctor Dre 07-23-2006 07:47 PM

P.S. You should be looking into the diesel direction... they have badass fuel efficient cars... the JETTA kick ass
