Sorenson Squeeze/DVD Ripping Question - Help Please!

I am trying to encode video with Sorenson Squeeze.

I rip the DVD to .vob then I drag the vob files into Squeeze... and don't get an audio option!

I am thinking Sorenson does not support PCM or AC3 audio?
(AC3 is the native format of the audio on most of the DVDs I have)

So upon ripping I need to convert the audio to MPEG2- is this right?

What rip software are you using to do this - or what is the proper process?

Any suggestions or useful insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Bump for a lil help!

Jace? Anyone? Bueller?

sorenson supports AC3, that is all I use for enconding

I have honestly never used sorenson for dvd features, we have all our dvd authoring done elsewhere

I use it for the incredible web compression settings :)

i know someone that was messing with this bug... if i remember it right, only certain versions of sorenson come w/ the codec that you need.. i could be wrong though...

I am not creating/'authoring a DVD... I am ripping a DVD that I need to encode to Flash - using Sorenson Squeeze.

Is there a setting or something that I am missing that lets Squeeze recognize the AC3 audio?

Thanks again.

Encode to Flash - .flv for web video/Internet use... that is what I am doing - or trying to...

What do you rip with before bringing it in to Squeeze? Is there a step in the process that I am missing?

what I would do is rip it to mpeg or avi and then throw it in sorenson squeeze

use one of the many dvd rippers out there

OK - I can do that - just seems like the process will be a lot longer. I was hoping I could work straight off the vob/mpeg2.

Thanks Jace.
