BTW, unless you are talking generations, it's called a 5 series, not a 5th series.

Don't let a guy who calls a 5 series, a 5th series, tell you your car sucks.

Minte 06-11-2006 04:42 PM

The 3 series is an excellent daily driver.
I've owned 5 of them over the last 10 years and none of them ever let me down.If you get it,add a set of Dunlop M3 winter sports and you will have a fine winter vehicle too.

spacekadet 06-11-2006 04:46 PM

I'm sure you'll save a few bucks, but not knowing who broke in your car is not a good feeling. If you plan on getting rid of it in a couple of years - who cares, but if you want to drive this car for several years I'd pony up the difference and get a brand new one.:2 cents:

I beg to differ, according to JD Power, Consumer Reports, Motor Trend & some other sources. (Buick of all cars is actually was/is number 1 at present, ahead of Lexus, Infinity, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc.)

Farang 06-11-2006 05:53 PM

looks great for me:thumbsup
wonna buy it?

AmateurFlix 06-12-2006 09:56 AM

who on earth sells a car back to a dealer with only 1400 miles on the odometer and why would they do that?

at a minimum I would ask for a 3rd party to inspect the car closely before commiting to anything.

I'm not saying that there's something wrong with the car though, perhaps it was simply purchased by someone both wealthy and fickle who traded it in after 6 months

I was thinking the same thing. Did the guy/girl buy it and didnt like it, maybe?

The car is manual, maybe it didnt workout?

candyflip 06-12-2006 10:44 AM

Could be a dealer demo. But they usually don't get rid of those before 5k unless the opportunity comes up.

Young 06-12-2006 10:47 AM

Don't get a BMW unless you're ready for a 5 series. The 3 series (not including M) is for posers. I see 3 million of them driven on the road everyday here in Boston. You're over paying for nothing. Get an A4 or the new 07 G35. Both are more bang for the buck.

G-Rotica 06-12-2006 11:05 AM

just another bmw

distingo 06-12-2006 11:11 AM

the new 3 series doesn't look great imo, i love bmws but that one just doesn't fit for a 3 series, it has lost its sporty look
i'd take audi or lexus like someone said

NichePay_Manny 06-12-2006 11:18 AM

BMW always makes good cars .So you can never go wrong buying one .

J. Falcon 06-12-2006 12:28 PM

Looks sweet, go for it.
