How many games will the Lakers last against the Kings.

The Kings beat the Mavs in OT without their 3 best players.

They beat the Mavs tonight with an all-star benched.

The question is, will the Lakers luck out and win a game or 2?

bdld 05-13-2002 10:17 PM

the lakers will win game 4, that's it.

.

SetTheWorldonFire 05-13-2002 10:17 PM

ace0r 05-13-2002 10:18 PM

Incuding tomorrow, that is highly optimistic. But that means the Kings will take 7 to put them away, which no one in their right mind believes.

bdld 05-13-2002 10:25 PM

nah they can't win 4 against the kings, lakers lose in 6

Houdini 05-13-2002 10:28 PM

Agreed, Lakers in 6.

eroswebmaster 05-13-2002 10:33 PM

Vlade looked pretty tired through this series. and Christie's ankle is probably still bothering him..but if Sacramento can take them up and down the court game in and game out...Lakers won't last.

I just don't think Shaq's foot will be able to continue to take the beating...and if San Antonio can push them to a game 7 that would only make matters worse for LA...however Kobe has been strong and has really shone (as he always does)...I still have hopes for San Antonio to beat them...but I think it will boil down to a West Coast Series between LA and Sacramento with Sacramento going to the championship...and of course we all know there isn't a team in the East that can take any of our playoff teams in the west :)

Kimmykim 05-13-2002 10:35 PM

Lakers lose in 5, maybe 6 at worst.

Unfortunately.

boneprone 05-13-2002 10:42 PM

the Lakers will win 1 game.

boneprone 05-13-2002 10:42 PM

2 at worst

TDF 05-13-2002 10:43 PM

lakers in 5...the road to the championship comes through LA

Lensman 05-13-2002 10:53 PM

At least everyone agrees that the Lakers have no chance.

Wizzo 05-13-2002 11:13 PM

Kings in 6...:thumbsup

I remember the old days when the fans left in the last 10 seconds of the King games ...

2 Great Teams!

boneprone 05-14-2002 12:33 AM

keev.
You have no fucking idea what you are talking about.

Stick with your fishing lures and leave the NBA picks to the pros.

Kings in six

jealousy is the second best form of flattery, eat your heart out lens, Lakers are gonna get whooped by the kings, cuz we *know* socal is where the real talent isn't...

boneprone 05-14-2002 12:49 AM

Kman, sitck with the Chargers and Padres.
Thats where the real Socal Talent bed is for you
SanDiego loosers.

Adopting an LA team as yours living in SD is bad enough, but when your LA team gets its ass kicked and you are stuck only with your Padres and Chargers you'll regret being the front runner you are adopting the Lakers as your team.

This is gunna be an ass whoopin

kmanrox 05-14-2002 12:58 AM

bonephone; i just moved from LA 3 months ago, and even so, SD LA is the closest team to SD, so it's our own.... you call portland blazers your team, and they arent even NBA, they are a high school team.... so blow me

boneprone 05-14-2002 01:05 AM

Leave the Blazers out of this.
Respect the personal problems our team has and leave it at that.
SOme things are more important to the Blazer Players other than basketball. I can respect that.

Lets keep the Blazers out of this. Not an issue.

The issue is this limp Lakers team.
They dont stand a chance against the Kings.

DX 05-14-2002 01:36 AM

Doesn't really matter either way, with the
BOSTON CELTICS
eventually eliminating whomever it is.

nocostporn 05-14-2002 06:41 AM

Everybody thinks Shaq can't be stopped *NEWSFLASH* he's crippled like Divac now,he's averaging only 4 more points then Divac in the Playoffs...He's no longer dominant...Kings have the highest of confidence right about now, they just dominated the highest scoring team in basketball...Kings in 6 or 7...Wait until the first game,The Kings will be sloppy as hell for having such a long break and they will still win...FEAR THE KINGS...No I'm not a bandwagon fan BUT it looks like it's their year...f the games get over 95 points,LA has NO chance...Rick Foxx better grow his shag back out for luck or something :thumbsup

Houdini 05-14-2002 07:24 AM

Dude check out some facts before you open your mouth. Shaq is averaging 23.3 points a game in the playoffs. That's only 4 points behind his season average. Divac is averaging 12.8, 1 point above his season average. Divac will get ass fucked by Shaq in this series, that match won't even be close. Lakers have two players that score over Webber, the Kings highest scorer. Lakers will take 'em in at most in 6.

stangster 05-14-2002 07:32 AM

The Lakers have won their last 12 playoff ROAD games.

Kings aren't a problem in the playoffs.

They crumble like the blazers.

Weren't you the genius who started that Lakers are done thread the other day? When the Lakers were well on their way to knocking off the Spurs?

I don't like the Lakers one bit, and I really wish Phil had never gone there to coach, but reality is what it is...

Cheshire 05-14-2002 09:37 AM

:)

jreaka 05-14-2002 09:45 AM

As much as we all hate the Lakers.......they will still win:(

Keev 05-14-2002 09:47 AM

Isn't that why they let Divak go in the first place? He could not handle the clause in his contract that said he had to let Shaq ass fuck him after every loss. :1orglaugh

boneprone 05-14-2002 10:35 AM

It amazes me how many of you know NOTHING about Basketball.

NOTHING.

Its sooo easy for you to just jump on a Laker Bandwagon, cause they won the title back to back in previous seasons.

FYI: They arent the same team anymore! Look at the season record!

boneprone 05-14-2002 10:36 AM

FYI: They arent the same team anymore! Look at the season record!

Two years ago when they won they had vets like John Sally, Ron Harper and Glen Rice who carried the team with the knowledge and years of playing the game to help the young lakers win.

Last year JR Rider, a former Blazer Superstar was around to help the Lakers win the title. Rider had the Playoff knowhow and steped up as a leader on the bench to help guide the young lakers to yet another championship.

This year they dont have any of these role players and their season record reflects this. They are not the same team. Anyone with any basketball knowledge would know this.

boneprone 05-14-2002 10:36 AM

Obviously Lens and some others actually follow the NBA like myself and to us this is obvious who the better team is.
KINGS.

Um, right.

boneprone 05-14-2002 11:24 AM

kk, whats your problem??
I always took you for a pretty smart person.

Do your research and you will see.

boneprone 05-14-2002 11:25 AM

It just amazes me how anyone can really think the Lakers can and will take the Kings.

Its just not possible.

kmanrox 05-14-2002 11:33 AM

amazing how everyone one lensman's payroll is rooting for the kings =)

TopCashQ 05-14-2002 12:36 PM

The regular season is all but irrelevant when it comes to the playoffs. Two time defending champs are usually pretty disinterested until the playoffs begin. Remember back in '93, when the Suns had the league's best record, the MVP (Barkley) and the home court advantage against the Bulls? Fat lot of good it did them....

Three reasons I think the Lakers have a shot against the Kings (I'm saying a shot, mind you, not that they WILL win...)

1. The Lakers play good team and individual defense - look at what they've been doing to Steve Smith, who had the best 3pt % this year; they don't have to double team Duncan as much, so Smith isn't just catching the ball for wide open 3's. This will hold true for Webber and the King's outside shooters (assuming Stoy. is even able to play, he'll have Fox in his face and perhaps in his head)

2. Psychological advantage - even though the Kings have given them a couple of tough challenges, the Lakers have won when it mattered most. I'm not saying the Kings will be intimidated - I think they'll be pushing too hard, and wanting it too much.

3. Kobe Bryant.... enough said.

Don't get me wrong; I'm sick of the Lakers, and I hope the Kings sweep them. I just don't think you can count out the defending champs, no matter who has a hurt foot/wrist.

boneprone 05-14-2002 01:05 PM

These Lakers are not the Bulls.

And Kobe is not Michael.

Lensman 05-14-2002 03:31 PM

If the Kings are healthy, the Lakers are done.

Yes, the Lakers have a big pschological edge, but the Kings are used to it, and have more to prove.

TopCashQ 05-14-2002 03:47 PM

That's true... although I have to say that Kobe's getting closer all the time. It's not just me; Popavich was making the comparison between their "will to win" after game 4, and that dagger of a putback that Kobe had.

Again, don't get me wrong, I WANT the Lakers to lose. I just don't think you should be so quick to dismiss the possibility that they can beat the Kings. The NBA game, even with the new defensive rules allowing zones, is still all about matchups, and the Kings have no answer for Shaq or Kobe. The Lakers don't have an answer for Webber, either, but he shoots so many jumpers, they might not really need an answer. He's so much more dangerous in the post, but for whatever reason, he doesn't like to go down there all that often.

Anyway, if the Lakers do win, you better believe some of the currently silent Laker supporters will be cropping up on here and telling us all how they knew it all along....

boneprone 05-14-2002 03:50 PM

its over

Damn, boneprone, that has to rate among the funniest things you have ever said, that I have read anyways. :1orglaugh

It is a good thing I do not take you serious, or I would be concerned. :thumbsup

Winning is winning! :thumbsup
