It is the wild, wild, west on the atlantic coast.

Stay home under your sheets pussy.

KMR Stitch 10-03-2005 04:43 PM

Yep, I have been reading this for the past few weeks.

I am glad it passed

WELCOME TO FLORIDA remember KMR lives here

Talk your shit on GFY Guns laws are laxed in Florida =)

Papi Chulo 10-03-2005 04:43 PM

Don't be such a pussy! In NYC people get shot for their 3 year old cell phone, or even less!

That law won't change the way criminals behave toward the public, and it won't make a scared shitless floridian who's getting robbed at gun point suddenly shoot innocent bystanders (or at least not anymore than they already do now!)

Fred Quimby 10-03-2005 04:44 PM

I'm packin now :Oh crap

if you run fron your attacker in Philly they will shot you in the back.
no point in running.
might aswell stay and fight.

Dirty D 10-03-2005 04:47 PM

Violent crime is way down in Florida.

We have had Concealed Carry Laws for a long time.

Dirty D has many guns :winkwink:

rezdesign 10-03-2005 04:51 PM

"oh caaanada.." :1orglaugh

BV 10-03-2005 04:57 PM

I'm all for guns, and in theory I can see where this might even deter crimes, but there are far too many idiots with guns nowadays.

I can even see some of these gung ho's walking into bad neighborhoods on purpose just to be provoked so they can take someone out and get it on video.

jukeboxfrank 10-03-2005 04:58 PM

Best law ever passed.

fetishblog 10-03-2005 05:00 PM

About fucking time.

pubenemy 10-03-2005 05:10 PM

getting my permit back :0

isn't that a scary thought?

crockett 10-03-2005 05:15 PM

Finally it's legal to shoot old people and slow driving tourists.. whoo hoo where do I get a gun?

Cogitator 10-03-2005 05:15 PM

I love the new law and I live here in Florida. I like not having to risk my life in order to not be judged a criminal when defending myself. Before the present law, I would have had to try to run from a guy with a gun before shooting back. How the hell does that work?

KRL 10-03-2005 05:15 PM

I love it. The bad guys hate it.

:thumbsup

KMR Stitch 10-04-2005 12:21 AM

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Joe Citizen 10-04-2005 12:24 AM

Fantastic law! I love it!

It can only result in more dead Americans, which is a public service! :thumbsup

je_rome 10-04-2005 02:10 AM

the columbine kids are now vindicated!

Anthony 10-04-2005 02:53 AM

Saturday has come and gone, I haven't shot anyone.

Yet.

Physicians:

(A) The number of physicians in the United States is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physicians is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services.

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups is 1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Anyime they get ready to pass a new self defense law the media always compares it to the wild west. Happened here in Memphis several years ago but we got our CCW law passed and guess what, it never turned out like the media speculated.
For those of you hypocrites that don't believe in the right to self defense, remember just like porn it's our constitutional right to bear arms! Carrying a gun or owning one locked up in a box does nothing to protect you, being able to use it when you have to can save your life.
In places like New York the only people who have guns are the criminals, now does that make you feel safe? Criminals by definition are people who break the law, so they don't give a shit if it's against the law to own a gun or not! They also feel much safer to target a law abiding citizen because they know, they won't be able to do much. Strict gun laws only protect the bad guys, allowing people the right to defend themselves protects the good guys who don't want to do anything illegal.
History has showed, these laws don't get abused by honest people. Is Memphis a safer place because of our carry laws, nope I really don't think so because criminals will always exist. I can say my house is safer, my family is safer and when I'm going down the street with my gorgeous wife in tow and anybody takes the notion to snatch her or rape her is going to find just how we defend ourselves in the South. The only question for that criminal will be, which of us is faster on the draw me or the wife :winkwink:

Just because you shoot someone in self defense doesn't mean you won't get charged with murder or attempted murder. Unless you have valid proof i.e. a video of the entire event you'd be an idiot to open fire first.

A lot people "defending" themselves will be going to jail.

This could be good but knowing many native Floridians I think that low education coupled with a misunderstanding of the law is going to have a lot of undesirable side effects.

Very well stated. If you make it in my house and you don't belong there it's not a good idea.

I think i'm going to go out today I will count the amount of times I get shot at.
Judging from the past, I'll guess ZERO.

This law will not effect anything what so ever, the concealed permit laws here are as lax as can be and no one shoots another, it's teh drug dealers that don't even have teh right to posses a gun that cause 90% of shootings, in case you did not know that.

Werd.

It's the media again going off the deep end.

At my weekly gun competition, this was the big news. Sure everyone had an experience where they wished they could have, but didn't. It's called responsiblity.

No guns tomorrow. All my .45's are getting maint work, except for my TRP, which is too goddamn big. :(

Seriously, since we'll be at Serge's, no need for firepower, we'll sic the pitbull on anyone, and she'll lick them to death! :)

Evil1 10-04-2005 08:51 AM

might be time to start looking into moving to florida.

ShaneRyale 10-04-2005 08:56 AM

I love the new law here. People should have the opportunity to defend themselves.

Sure a few people will get shot at first, but you have to crack a few eggs to make an omlet! LOL :)

Royce 10-04-2005 09:00 AM

that law only benefits the guns salesman

mikesouth 10-04-2005 09:14 AM

yeah, lord knows we wouldn't want to empower the people to defend themselves. let's just let the criminals run the fucking streets.

IN FACT, let's take everyone's guns away and just live in a fucking police state. i like that idea. it puts my sheep mind at ease, to know that my government can just tell me what to do and when to do it. it's brilliant.

scardog 10-04-2005 10:00 AM

You know you could have been shot by criminals with illegal guns before they passed the new law. Don't victimize law abiding citizens and law abiding citizens won't shoot you.

CS-Jay 10-04-2005 10:45 AM

The guys on the radio call it the "Make My Day" law. :1orglaugh

And seriously, if anyone is leaving, please take a few friends and your parents with you.

I wouldn't blame the media, its the PR machines of these extremist groups. Its the same shit with anti-porn groups, oops some woman find out her husband reads Playboy and because she has no job she has time to create some massive campaign against every porn shop in a 90 mile radius.

Webby 10-04-2005 12:23 PM

It's only a matter of time before the lot implodes - who cares?

Just don't emigrate near me :-)

ha, that rocks........ it is good to see that some states are finally starting to see that laws favoring the law abiding people will actually help crime rates go down. and no, it will not result in wild west type shoot outs.
