"Vivid Video" just cold called my home....
 

they asked for tony. he's not here so they did a very short survey with me. What kind of porn do you like, favorite pornstar, etc. all they did was ask if i was over 18. i said i was (but so could a 12 yr old). then they said for doing the survey they would send me 4 xxx videos in the mail. all they needed was $1 to cover s/h. i said no thanks. then she said actually it wasn't to cover s/h, it was to verify my age so they could actually send me the movies...therefore charge $1 to my credit card. then she proceeded to tell me that after i got those 4 movies i could call them to cancel whenever i wanted, cuz they would be sending me more each month.
now if i wouldn't have said that i would not pay the $1 fee, she never would have told me this was a recurring thing.
has anyone else experienced this?

yeah. i think that's VERY weird.
i called the 800 they called from just now and it said, THANK YOU FOR CALLING VIVID DIRECT...OUR OFFICES ARE NOW CLOSED. and then when their office hours are.

I will give you 8 XXX videos for $1 and i'll only rebill for 6 months

no just an 800# but when i called that number it said i had called vivid direct.

Getting calls at dinner time from a company peddling xxx videos (on a recuring basis) and asking about your porn viewing habits does not sound like a good marketing plan.

theres a correct and legal way to telemarket adult products which im not going to go into detail here for the obvious reasons.

the company i alluded to makes MOST of their money now from telemarketing and not from the TV ads.

this is a scam don't fall for it.. recurring videos every month and you can't cancel them . visit ripoffreport for more info

my dog has a credit card and he is only 3. Kids can get credit cards at any age now i think.

Didn't you guys recently buy a bunch of girl/girl videos to do market research? Maybe that's how they got your info and it was them calling all previous customers with a survey and special offer.

I have not been surveyed like that but I just yesterday a woman in the elevator asked if I have a credit card, and when I said no she asked if I want to have one, I bluntly told her that I am not interested and she can cut me some slack.

im on do not call. i can just imagine the adult companies that will go down if they start doing this. spam is different. calling someone at dinner or when they are lying in bed with their wife is gonna get someones ass in a sling. to me telemarketers aren't a problem. the best thing you can do to a telemarketer is act competely ecsatic and tell them that you are 100000% interested and to hang on a second, you need to answer the door real quick. put down the phone and just go do something. doesn't matter what. don't come back for like 3-5 mnutes. when you come back make another excuse to put the phone down. repeat. this is a great game. the most valuable thing to a telemarketer is their time, wasting a whole lot of theirs will teach them a lesson.

They are just people trying to make a buck to feed there families. "Telemarketers" are just employees man, you got problems its with the companies, not the people making $10-15$ an hour to call people all day. Also., you think it really bothers them to have you unhook them for 4-5 minutes...they still get paid, your just wasting the bosses time.

There is cities across North America where the only opportunity for many is to work in call centers. Im not saying its adequate for adult programs to call people but to blatently fuck around with people who are trying their best to feed the families BY WORKING is retarded. Atleast they have enough work ethic to get a job, they could just as easily be on welfare and not calling you.
