As terrifying as Katrina is..any news junkies want to bet on..

the first news source they see used a pic of the sea surge and use some version of 'Katrina and her waves' as a headline?

p.s. Watching it on Fox (only US channel we get) and I am thinking of everyone in the path.

Right now, I'm not really seeing the humour here, sorry Sarah. With the hurricaines that I've been through, I'm just worried about potential thousands of people killed in this situation, and I know some people in N.O..... haven't been able to contact them.

I'm hoping I don't wake up in the morning and hear bad news... Sure do hope they pull through this.

Furious_Male 08-28-2005 06:50 PM

This storm is of historic proportions. I just hope the loss of life is very very low.

Isn't that a good thing?

FYI, tying up phone lines is not the most brilliant of ideas.

I wasn't attempting humour..more just after two hours of watching Fox news (something I don't often watch but it was my only choice) I was starting to take extra note on how sensationalise even things that don't need any help to be any more scary.

I am very lucky that the hurricanes I have been through have been pretty small deals because PA isn't exactly hurricane territory and the one I was once in on vacation in FL wasn't bad.

If I didn't care I wouldn't be up watching Fox of all places at 3am.

Ironically, the one cam at Bourbocam that is inside pointing out is the one that has been messed up all day and is now shut down through the duration :(

i care about everyone but everytime i see you post right now I am extra happy.

Nysus 08-28-2005 08:22 PM

It's the US media. Just look online at satelitte photos and do research yourself, and you'll have the actual truth and facts of the matter, instead of FOX NEWS which we all know is accurate and portrayed in a fully factual manner. :1orglaugh

I do have friends in the areas that always get hit by these hurricanes, so I do wish for the best for everyone.

i'll put money on Killer Katrina but not "the waves" that's weak and trite. . . plus Killerkatrina.com is already registered. :)

I am hunkering down much closer to the water than I should be. Don't panic if my posts disappear for a couple of weeks, the power usually goes out way before the storm ever really gets going :(
