so i get a parking ticket today - I intend to beat it
 

fucking IDIOT meter maid - i parked about 3 meters behind a stop sign - EVERYONE does this at EVERY other intersection around this area and in winnipeg in general.

the ticket said - and i QUOTE - "parked within 9 meters of a traffic DEVICE"

according to that a stop sign is a 'devise' - websters say a device is a machine -I'm fighting it - according to the meter maid then anyone who parks by a sign posted stating speed or directions must be 9 meters back from the sign - hogwash..

a device is a traffic light - NOT a sign.

this will be i think #10 i've been in front of a magistrate - and i plan on winning again - habn't lost a traffic violation ticket yet that i fought.

no- 3 meters from the stop sign - then there's the sidewalk and the bulivard - i'm probally 10-12 meters from the intersection.

tell the judge

"do you how many posts i have on GFY!?"

also ask him if he knows that other judge who got caught looking at porn, and then suggest he take a look at your site

I have 16 unpaid parking tickets. They pulled the parking equivalent of a speed trap.

The only available parking is street, and they made it 1 hour parking. No meters to feed either. They just go around with the colored chalk marking your tires and come back an hour later to see if you are still there.

The stop sign comes first,
then the sidewalk
then the boulevard
then the street
then the chicken
then the egg.

in LA, you pay all fines before you can fight it.

then you have to pay court cost and parking.

you pay more driving down to fight it then just paying it, and since you paid already well... you see how LA works.

I feel ur pain .. their is a Meter Nazi that roams 2 square blocks around our office, this guy will sit at a car and wait out 5-6 minutes to get them for parking to long.

I got a 30 ticket a couple of days ago,parking in a no parking zone. Over the period of a year it works out less expensive to park where I want , then to pay all the ridiculous parking lot fees. :2 cents:
