hehe very funy.

I run NT4 at the moment and it is stable but getting old.

I get a new computer this week and will run win2K pro on it.
I heard it is very stable.
Way better then win9x or windows ME.

RedShoe 08-05-2001 12:42 PM

I used to use NT4, now I run 2K Pro, (and love it)
Haven't had any problems with it.

Too bad I haven't really pushed it, or taken it too it's limits yet. All I do is basically internet, and photoshop.

I know it will do much MUCH more, but I just haven't messed with it yet.

w2k rocks - changed 34 workstations and 3 servers from nt4 to w2k earlier this year and they all do fine - no need for this cool tool anymore http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

I now run WIN XP beta, and yep, looks like they guys from mircosoft finally got it working now. I simply kicks ass.....

I hated W9x
I love W2000 it's very stable an application can crash but the OS stays up and running.
It will take a long time before i will upgrade to XP.

But ... UNIX is better than all the rest ;-)

I'm STILL trying to figure out what went wrong ....

Hey ... I just bought a new machine 2 weeks ago ... a Pentium 3 - 933 Ghz with 512 Mb of SDRAM and 40 Gig HD ... I opted to have Win98 pre-installed ... as the company who built it for me only had 98 or ME ....

I have a question regarding Windows 2000 professional ... will it run my 40 gig HD as one disk ... or will I have to partition it ??

And secondly ... does anybody have a ripped copy of Windows 2000 Professional that they would be willing to do a software trade for something ??? (Maybe AutoCAD 2000 Professional, or whatever else?) I have a shitload of software ... but have been unsucessful in finding Windows 2000 pro so far ...

i don't think you have to do any particition, i got a 30gb and i didnt face any problem,so i guess it will be the same with a 40gb disk

2k home is sweet... when I had my other system and had no conflicts, I had it run without a reboot/problem for like 45 days straight...

now this one has trouble with my soundcard/mother board chipsets combo... so I can stay still a good week up...

and 2k doesn't just crash/reboot without any hardware problem or driver problem... it's real stable... program might crash, but not 2K itself... or rarily.

with a 30 or 40 GB HD you should partition it any way....... runs faster and the minimum file save size is decreased

yep - and its a good idea to split system and data information on two partitions anyway !

-=HUNGRYMAN=- 08-06-2001 03:16 AM

OK ... that all makes sense ... but can somebody give me the skinny on how to make it "dual bootable" ??
I want to keep Win 98 as well, to eliminate any software/hardware issues ...
