Hyundai: Good cars to buy??

Lookin at one. Looks nice, the front has the Mercedes Benz look, and the back has the Jaguar look.

Test drove it, liked it, has all the options I want, price is good, been doing online research about them and i've seen both positive and negative reviews.

Are they good cars to have? :helpme

torrey 05-29-2004 11:32 AM

Korean made, but seem to have a sweet warranty. :)

Goose 05-29-2004 11:34 AM

no definetely not. Keep your hands away from those cars...
as you said, they just copy the great ones, and when they don't there cars turn out to look like a fucked chi-wa-wa

jaffa1 05-29-2004 11:34 AM

i have hyudnai lantra - very sutisfied with it. 3 years almost never been in garage. only usual maintenance

riosluts 05-29-2004 11:36 AM

actually right now they are the top selling cars. and they reliablity has improved. Also they got a pretty big warranty so you dont have much to worry about. Its those old Hyundai's that are trouble. And the tranny brakes and it starts smoking oil.

merlin77 05-29-2004 11:36 AM

I've always thought they were decent cars. My parents have always bought Hyundai, so that's what I had always driven growing up. They run well, good gas mileage, great warranty, good prices!

I went car shopping with my girl yesterday. I probably wouldn't buy one, but the Tiburon GT with power everything, leather AND a V6 is a sweet fucking deal for $18k. Not only that, but they have a warrenty that no one can touch as well as an owner satisfaction rating too.

Hyundai is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to reasonable transportation.

i dont know about the 2000 year. Does it still come with a warranty

fiftyfingers 05-29-2004 11:42 AM

I heard they're doing the sweet deals + sweet warranty because they're trying to redeem themselves. So far it looks like their product line has improved.

I like the car as well. I also drive a coupe (older model) and I never had problems. Also pretty fast, all the extra's etc...

BTW the new coupe( Tiboron in USA) costs here like 30K EURO...Damn only 18.0000 dollar, like 15.000 Euro, maybe even less...DAMN..

Yep...$18k. The one we drove yesterday had every available option and the sticker was $18k and change. If she wanted it yesterday, she could have driven if off the lot for $16.5. Unfortunately for the salesman, her daddy is buying her a new car...not me...so no end of the week commission for him.

If you're considering Hyundai, also take a look at Kia. Since Hyundai took control of Kia they've put out some great cars and affordable and reasonable prices. Same warrenty. Same quality.

bluedevil 05-29-2004 11:50 AM

hyundais are definitely good cars. their prices and warranties can't be beat. 10 years ago, they were the shittiest cars around but they've turned it all around.

I for one, would never buy one. You'll get hell trying to get parts warrantied.
