have a 51 " Hitachi rear projection Great, Picture quality, with a surround sound system, dvd player, and a VCR all Hitachi. Best thing to do is go to a store where they have all of them set up and see which pic Quality you like best. Toshiba is another good make , just depends what you want to spend.

high budget:
carver amps
mk speakers

med budget:
Bose (what i got)... best investment ever!!!

low budget:
all in one packages... preferably Energy brand or Polk or klipche - these are a but more costly than ur sony and panasonic type brands...

...really depends on how much money you want to invest, and how important quality sound is, and how much room you have in the room

i really like Bose!!!! i have it, and have not yet gotten tired of it... there are some you get used to the loudness or just the way they produce sound...you end up wanting more...

I would go for a plasma screen if you have enough bling bling :)

I would say don't choose Bose. They are decent enough, I won't deny that, but their brand name has earned them a price that is far higher than their value.

Paradigm, B&W are all comparably priced to bose and are of higher quality imho.

Buy a Infocus X1 if you want the most bang for your buck.
I bought one a couple months ago and love it.
I use mine for dvd movies, xbox, and Hi-Def TV.
I built my screen myself using the Mississippi Mud Formula.
Check out AVSFORUM.COM for info on HT.
