Armed Airline Pilots LOL
Anyone watching this on CNN?
Showing how the Dept. of Homeland Security is training pilots to use guns. They showed them all on the shooting range with pistols standing only about 3 feet away from the targets. You got to be a really bad shooter to miss at that distance. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh I still don't think its a good idea for pistols to be firing with all the passengers directly in the line of fire. |
omg do not give them guns up there... just put them thru riguous MMA training :)
|
drunk and armed.

Guns in an airplane?! :BangBang:

I've seen that one too! Quite a scene if you ask me! |
guns on a plane is definatley a bad idea
|
Why guns? How about something that can't make a hole in the plane. Like a tazer or something :Graucho
|
OMG what airline is using those pilots.
Gotta know who to avoid! |
Not hitting the civilians should be the last concert during a flight... it should be not hitting the plane and puncturing it. Putting a hole in a plane with that kind of pressure can kill everyone on board :(
|
I would think that there would be a greater risk of a hijack with armed pilots.
Hijacker's will only have to get the gun from the cock pit. Inside job could do this. While it might not be so easy for a arab on a suicide mission. It wouldnt be impossible for a regular ransom hijacking. |

Now as far as the fear of a rapid decompression from a bullet piercing the cabin, the best information about Air Marshal ammo is they're using frangible bullets. (Likely a 80-grain projectile with a compressed core of No. 6 shot) which scatter pellets into the wound channel, causing massive blood loss, shock and death. It will spoil your whole day getting hit by one. :1orglaugh |
Of course it will not make hijacking EASIER.
If it makes a pilot feel ANY safer to be armed, all the power to them. You're already putting your life in their hands, trusting them with a gun is hardly that much of a leap. Besides, cockpit doors are locked now. You can't loiter outside them, even to wait for a washroom either. IF someone got through the door, and the pilot had to fire on them .. I'd say do it, passengers are a secondary concern. Used to be pilots put passengers before everything else. That's why standard procedure was to hand over a plane to hijackers, and do what they demanded. No longer is this the case. In fact, as we've seen, a plane can kill a whole lot more people than just those on board. I say the new policy is good. All passengers should be aware that hijackers will not be handed any more planes .. If you're on a plane, and something goes down .. It's in your own self interest to stop it form happening, at all costs. |
Forget the guns.. Just put taser triggered doors on the cockpit. Get a code wrong.. BZZZZZ you're knocked out cold. Try forcing your way in.. BZZZZZ you can't pee for a week. Only when the plane is on the ground, can they be deactivated by the control tower or pilots.
If that's too expensive, hire private security personnel.. you know, ex-seals undercover. Kinda like how El-Al does. Don't see anymore hijackings on those planes since then. |
Guns and airplanes? I don't think so! :BangBang:
|
yep watched it...it's a good idea I think. Not only because of security reasons, but the pilots themselves can feel saver this way...
