for no fucking reason my check engine light came on and its too fucking dark to run the codes.... this shit better not fucking cost me another grand, god damn car. i swear if this fucking thing is outting me another $500 i am taking the current motor out and just buying a SR20DET (silvia turbo engine) for 3k . god this fucking car pisses me off at times.. i love it to death, and treat it with so much love, and in return it turns on a red light in my fucking face. errrrrr

my truck started doing some wierd shot today... temp guage maxes out, red light comes on, then it goes right back down... every few minutes... doesnt seem like its overheating either.

What kind of car do you have. If its a VW/Audi you can use VAG-COM to scan it and find out whats wrong. Alot of cars have a way to read the code by doing some special key manuvers. I suggest you find your car manufacteurs board and ask there. I am pretty sure someone will help you out there. And dont ignore it, it might be incorrect voltage on a battery or might be something even bigger.

I'll second that.

If it's a OBD 1 computer system, depending on the code stored in the ECM, it could be running in 'limp home mode'. Horrible performance, mileage, etc.

yup, the KA24DE.. i was gunna get the sr20 blacktop but i dono if i want to yet, there are some nice things to do with the ka. hit me on AIM some time, ill gladly go over the plans with you for the ka.

the ka24de is a well built engine, i know its from a truck, but it got so much torque compared to the sr. and once its built up it got balls man. talk to you about it some time.

I've got a couple ka24de motors in my garage and I must say, they are torquey motors. They get clowned on for being a "truck motor" but i've seen some amazing runs with turbo'd ka's in s13, s14's and even some altimas.

its a bit funny how you wont go into some detail about your nissans and ledgit nismo products you own, your a fucking disgrace to any nissan tuner, seriously. why do you need to lie about nismo products? its ok little boy, maybe if you ask daddy enough he might just get you a real "jdm tight" nismo shirt.

True, then again, any engine can be built to run good times. The reason I laugh at the ka24 is because if you want the huge power levels some people are after, the sr20 is factory turbo, so it's got a hell of a strong bottom end on it already... with a little work, it can handle HP numbers not fit for this world.

I suppose its like comparing a RB26DETT to a b16a out of a honda, the RB26 is a beast from the factory, the b16a needs more than a little bit of work to give it any real numbers :winkwink:

well i dont say things i am not sure of.

i have owned a s13 before and now i own a s14.. i know alot about the 240s. it just really pisses me off when people want to say its a pos when that s14 is one of the cleanest s14s around.
my buddy dave owns a s14.5 (15 conversion) and he is in the process of turbing the ka24. we installed the 91 cams in it just last week and we are going to do that to mine next weekend.

i was into drifting when i had my s13, i drift some with my s14 when i have spare tires to tear up, but right now i am planning on building it up for the 1320

I enjoy watching drifting, and doing it in video games, but I'd rather drag or road race. Seems like it'd be more entertaining seeing how fast you go, as opposed to how good you look.

great game, you can set up the tires and suspention perfectly for drifting, its also online and alot of kids on it like drifting so its pretty neat to drift side by side with some friends.

also use to setup GT:3 for drifting but it wasnt as good, and i didnt like how in NFS:underground all the cars could drift without real mods to suspention and shit, i like to keep it real, and LFS is the closest i have seen, you can set the suspention perfectly.

Yeah, once I upgrade my machine im definitly getting LFS, for now, im stuck with drifting in GT3.. I've got a steering wheel for it though, so its pretty damned entertaining :thumbsup

The SR20 is a torqueless piece of shit. I'm tired of ricers worshipping it because it's "JDM"...

Spend the same coin on some rods and pistons for one of those KA's you've got in the garage, and turbo that. Same price more power, and most importantly, more torque.

And yes, you do post about that 240 an awful lot. :2 cents:
