I sure the fuck hope so! I live in a small mountain community where broadband will probably never happen! I've asked the phone company about DSL, the cable company about Cable, etc. etc. and they all tell me "It's not going to happen in your area".
I hate dial-up, but there is absolutely no other choice in my area. They talk about wireless DSL, but it has yet to happen, the only option for me is Satellite and from what I understand, that service sucks and is very expensive.

I feel sorry for peeps who still use dail up :(
