photoshop - making same sized thumbs
sure its easy to make em one by one but how can i batch a folder of thumbs and make them all the same size? often times my content has some vertical and some horizontal, which looks like crap when the thumbs are all different sizes. i know there is a way to do it, i just can't seem to figure it out. is there some kind of tutorial out there maybe?

try digitaldutch.com's Arles program, I never forced landscape pictures to be the same dimension as portrait pics, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had this, this is a great app for all your gallery needs

You can do this with thumbs plus but trust me you will never get the results looking good. The reason being that the subject in the photo will always be in a different orientation and you'll always risk cropping out an important feature like half a face etc.
When I do a gallery I set the cropping tool in PS to the fixed WxH that I need and then I open all 15-20 images at once and crop one at a time and use keyboard shortcuts to save them with quality 10. When I'm done I use an image optimizer to compress them in batch so I get the best quality thumbs at the lowest possible size. It takes me 2 minutes and I get great results. |
use arles, its easy to use and works great.

Irfanview will do this, you can set a maximum width and height and cleck a box to keep it in proportion.

Are you looking to crop each? If not, just use the batch tool in PS?
