Does TIVO make your picture worse?
Just got it and it makes my picture look worse. I tried S-Video but that somehow looks worse than the RF input. Is this normal?
|
No, it shouldn't. Check the quality of your cables...
|
Oh oh oh I bet I know what it is.
They have high/medium/low recording quality depending on how much HD space you want show to take up. I keep mine on high..never had a problem. You may be recording at low or medium quality, which WILL affect picture pretty dramatically. |

I have heard that it "compresses" the image quality on some systems. A friend with Comcast here returned it cause the quality was crap. Probably the older version of Tivo though.

The only reason I don't have HDTV is because Tivo doesn't support HDTV right now.
Tivo is God's Machine |
Depends on the tivo you have. if your have a stand alone one than you are going form your source into the tivo, then recompressing that source..
if you have a direct tivo combo unit no compression is done since there is no digital to analog conversion required. HDTIVO due out this spring.. |
TIVO doesn't work with HDTV as far as I know, were you high def before?
