An accident just happened right out in front of my house.
We were just sitting here a little while ago, when we heard this loud screech of tires outside. We live on a pretty busy road so we are kind of used to the sound of people locking up their breaks, but this time it was different. We heard an impact.
Ann ran outside and I heard her shouting for me to call 911 as I was looking out of the bedroom window, at the street below. I saw this SUV halfway up on our lawn, with this kids bicycle all mangled up, underneath the front of it. The boy, who had to about 8 years old, was rolling around, screaming, in the middle of the street. I called 911 immediately. Out in front of the house was an instant mob scene. People were everywhere. The police were there within a minute and the ambulance only a few minutes after that. They wound up taking the kid away in the ambulance. He was conscious. Hopefully he'll be alright. This exact same thing happened to one of Ann's friend's boys, just about two weeks, on another busy road near here. |

The White Horse Pike (route 30) the speed limit is 40. I was just telling some kids the other day to be careful crossing the road. :( |
