On the contrary, they have been subtly encouraging me to move in that direction.

What happened here? Did GoDaddy seize the domain for spam/abuse or did someone hack into the registrar? Absolutely crazy if its GoDaddy who took control of the domain.

I got this e-mail this morning:

Dear Webmaster,

Further to the recent email we sent you regarding technical difficulties and the need to change linking codes to access our affiliate program, please be advised that our registrar has taken immediate steps to resolve these difficulties.

However the process will take between 10 and 24 hours for the DNS to be fully propagated. For those of you that have already changed your linking codes, you will not need to change them again.

For those of you who have not changed your linking codes there is no need to do so. EITHER WAY YOU WILL NOT LOOSE ANY MONEY! In order to compensate our loyal webmasters, payouts for this Saturday and Sunday (October 4th and 5th) will be made based on your average daily payout in this pay period, PLUS an additional 20% as a token of our gratitude.

As an additional "thank you" for your understanding and loyalty, we will be paying our Webmasters an additional 25% bonus on all payouts for next Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th.

If you have any questions, please send them to [email protected].

Sincerely,

WEGCash Management

The situation is simple. They and their "protected" pet spammers sent out millions of turds and they finally got called on it.

Here is a google group search url containing about 700 complaints/comments about poor , innocent, persecuted Wegcash and their Spamvertised Join4Free sites.

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...=Google+Search

Here is more about this fine company:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...et-abuse.email

I suspect the reason GoDaddy stepped in is that Wegcash's webhost "Cave Creek" and upstream provider "Level3" have been provided "incentives" to ignore ALL spam complaints. Apparently they weren't able to do the same with GoDaddy .

GoDaddy's TOS is clear. Wegcash violated it. They should have read clause 7 of the domain registration agreement...

"7. RESTRICTION OF SERVICES; RIGHT OF REFUSAL

You agree not to use the services provided by Go Daddy, or to allow or enable others, to use the services provided by Go Daddy for the purposes of:

The transmission of unsolicited email (SPAM)"

WegCash is another example of the golden rules that all spammers lie ..... and all spammers are stupid. The links above dispute WegCash's No Spam policy. The fact that they registered the domain with GoDaddy and not a SPAM LOVING registrar like Joker or Ghandi indicates they are stupid as well.....

All you WegCash webmasters can continue to kiss their spamming assess....

Ross 10-05-2003 08:23 AM

Shit happens...

GeXus 10-05-2003 08:24 AM

Godaddy is real stricked on spam.. They locked one of my domains yesturday, gexus.com, which is a free host.. due to a member spamming.. I had to pay 30$ to get the domain back, but now i have an agreement with godaddy, where they will not cancel me, they will foward all complaints to me, so i can resolve any issues myself.

brand0n 10-05-2003 08:25 AM

like this means a motherfucking thing to weg..they will shake this off like a dog does water, and move right on..:thumbsup

rooster 10-05-2003 08:33 AM

what I still dont understand is why would godaddy even care. I dont see how wegs abuse would come back on them. If they really didnt want their business, all it would take is a simple phone call telling them that in 72 hours their domain would be removed so please move to a different registrar.

If their host, upstream provider etc has looked the other way in exchange for $$$, then the complaintants should be going thru legal channels to get the upstream provider to shut them down.

Weg might be the biggest spammers around for all I know, but I think it sets a really bad precident when registrars are holding someones business hostage.

If godaddy does have the right to do that, then the way domains are issued need to be changed.

Godaddy typically will inform you before they lock the domain (or so they claim).. they have all the right to lock a domain for spam, and they should. If you are willing to abide by there spamming policy, you can work with godaddy and they will not shut down your domain, due to complaints.

In prison, it seems, no one is guilty and everyone there has been setup, and unfairly prosecuted.

On GFY, no sponsor or affiliate ever spams, they've just been framed and unjustly persecuted , by SpamCop, SPEWS, or now the EVIL GoDaddy.

Even when the evidence shows hundreds of spam complaints, its obviously just another conspiracy theory.....

Every program has rogue affiliates. And as I mentioned in another thread, there was a webmaster (who's posted in THIS thread, lol!) who turned in a program he had specifically opted into for a football pool for "spamming" when they sent info,so there's ZERO way of knowing if these people are getting opt ins or double opt ins and Wegcash is getting the shaft.

GoDaddy is just a bunch of haters but really, when you own a program that you KNOWINGLY use spam to promote, you should spend the bucks on a registrar that will protect you. Do you think a $10 reg fee is worth all the heat for GoDaddy?

Anyway I would believe the rogue spammer getting pissed at them part. They keep a few spammers "protected", mainly the ones that can find other smaller spammers for a steady stream of referrals around. When the smaller spammers make a decent amount though they make up some bullshit excuse and can the account anyway. Been there, done that, free e-mail programs are bullshit anyway. :uhoh
