I need some help.
 

I have a background image static on this new site and because I am still on 28K dialup, I can't really tell what speed it loads for most others.

Do you think my background image is still too large for most surfers to load fairly quick?

I have to be really careful...much more compression and it really starts looking like shit.

NO, I am not joking. It's the only choice here still. No cable, dls or satelite crap. Just dialup. And the phone company is so antiquated they are still waiting on Mr. Bell's next big invention.

95K seems a bit on the heavy side for a background image. Pull it into PS and drop contrast, compress it down to about 20% and feather the edges into black. You can get that size of an image down to 10K easily and still be acceptable for a backdrop.

And darken it up some! That's a site about witches, not fairies... :)

First of all why do you need this banner, they only thing it does ? destruct users.
And the second >> it?s a small copyright sign on the bottom of the image JonathonEarlBowser. I hope you have the rights to use it : ).
Image itself is around 100k. Try to use clean tables and use nice colors instead of using this background.

Thanks for the input...I had it down to 32k when I uploaded it. Not sure what that problem is. 100K for you? really? That's just weird. Don't know why.

As far as copyright goes, I have an e-mail out asking for permission as we speak. No reason I can't get feedback until I get approval though.

Yes, I realize I am going to have to darken the image to get the text (regardless of color) to stand out properly. This is very priliminary (sp). Darken and watermark is the plan.
