Someone is apparently sending out a virus
...using my ISP provided E-mail address. I have recieved several E-mails in the past couple of days stating that a virus was in the E-mail I sent them. The virus being W32.Sobig.F@mm.
I have not ever sent an E-mail to any of the addresses that claim I sent them an E-mail. What if anything can I do about this?? |
Probably someone using your email as their return address. I've had that happen before..

Jesus, im so amazed that 90% of the people on this board dont know how viruses work...

The virus is using your computer to send virus to others.

If you keep getting a shitload, just filter out the messages based on the subject line, that is basically all you can do.

heh.
i get hundreds of those per day. returned emails from email gateways - invalid accounts, mailbox full, virus messages telling me my emails were denied, it's sad. i've filtered all i can possibly do without losing possible legit emails :( |
Your computer doesnt have to be infected. Any computer that has your email in its address book can be infected. Then it will fake the from email address and try to infect more people.

"eventually" to get the entire net running windows to patch themselves will take forever. |
