Will XP work on a PII 466, 228Mb RAM pc
 

It doesn't have to be lightning fast, I only use it for email and ICQ, but I still cannot get my pc to work with my router and quite frankly, I'm sick of it:)

I'd recommend linux :winkwink: it runs very nicely on my laptop which isn't far different from those specs.

And how about just installing it over w98? Will that work at all?

i got xp installed on cel366/128(pc100) and it runs even faster p4-2.2/1G(pc2700)
Actually i installed it in dos mode wo any fuckin mshelp/support services etc and get out many other useless libraries from distr or its services have to be turned off by default during the installation to boot normal on this config
there r a lot of tutorials on the net to compose good win distr for slow pc configs

thats quit enough space for icq/mail + minimal services set

dos 6.22 with win3.11
works great with routers :thumbsup
