channel 4 running teen sex season
 

mostly for the UK folks but I know some others can pick up channel 4.


Channel 4 is to devote a season of programmes to teenage sex.

The Adult At 14 season will offer a "realistic examination of teenage sexuality" which will feature scenes that could shock many parents.

It includes a documentary, Age Of Consent, in which presenter Miranda Sawyer argues that sex below the age of 16 should be legalised.

Another documentary, Porn To Be Young, will interview young people about their attitude towards pornography.

And in 14 Alone, a group of ten 14-year-old boys and girls will be allowed to spend five days and nights together in a house without adult supervision.

It is the follow-up to Boys Alone and the subsequent Girls Alone, the social experiment which attracted criticism for putting a bunch of 11-year-olds in a house to fend for themselves.

In 14 Alone, cameras will follow the teenagers as they live together free of the usual teen trappings of TV, music or computer games.

The programme claims it will offer an insight into "this tender age when children are on the cusp of adulthood".

A Channel 4 spokeswoman stressed that rules would be imposed and a camera crew would be present at all times to ensure things did not get out of hand.

"This is not like Big Brother where they are left completely alone, there will be cameramen in the house with them," she said.

It will also broadcast Pornography: The Musical in which real-life sex workers will sing about their working lives.

well, it sounds more like documentries..which channel 4 does a lot of. last year they did a similar thing to the boys alone thing where they had 10 eight year old boys alone in a house (with a camera watching them) and watched to see what they did. Was fascinating. Turned into lord of the flies in that house.

Yes or maybe they thought:

Teens have sex, so lets try to educate them more, lets discuss what the good and bad things are, lets discuss STD's and Pregnancy, maybe relationships. They may have also thought that we all did it, lets not pretend we didnt, lets have an open discusion about the whole subject to help an educate

Channel 4 is the third biggest TV channel in the U.K I dont think they did it to see boners, but maybe Im wrong?

yeah, plus they won't be showing it before 10pm atleast..the watershed law won't allow it. As much as anything it will, if their past shows go for anything, be aimed at educating parents about how the lives of their kids.

Teen sex about 14 year olds?

I thought teen sex meant 18 and 19 year olds having sex? *boggle*

Its one thing to be open and discuss all of that, but I hope no parent in their right mind would allow their child to go to some house with a bunch of other kids and hope that the other kids parents did a good job of raising them!

A good educational program would have parents and kids learning the truth about STDs, pregnancy and the emotions that come with sex...especially for girls:2 cents:

I agree but I must say I dont know much about this program, but from what Ive seen on Channel 4 its usually top stuff

if it is anything like the previous show they have cameras hidden in the house that are watched by a doctor at all time. If anything gets too dangerous they would come in and break it up.

This does not surprise me.

After all, this is the new millenium....
