I worked in the restaurant biz for years, 90% of the waiters are gay, so I have a lot of gay friends. Hell, I've joined them for a couple pride rallies and picked up some hot bi-chicks...fuck, I think they were chicks.......

I've had several gay friends and I end up associating with a lot of gay men because my girlfriend works part time as a waitress and I estimate that, conservatively, 92.68% of male restaurant servers are gay.

As for "reacting" to finding out, I've never had to react. In the cases of my personal gay friends I was always sure before they told me.

I've been to some pretty amusing places with my gay friends and amassed a collection of pretty amusing stories and anecdotes.

I don't know how Cleveland rates on the gay fun-o-meter but there are a lot of gay clubs around here. There's U4ia in Lakewood (which I believe has the highest [percentage or raw numbers?] gay population in the USA outside of San Francisco) which has a badass light system and stage setup. There's Bounce downtown where they hold a weekly drag show that has to be seen to be believed. The Flex Club in downtown is a gay bath house with quite a local reputation. I had a gay friend who used to bring me little trinkets from his visits to the Flex Club, including cocks rings and little tiny tubes of flavored lube. He used to also bring back great stories. On Detroit Road there used to be a place called The Cage which had the most entertaining decor of any building I have ever been in.

Edit: actually, Bounce is a little outside of downtown on the west side near the Flats. Not that it matters.

Being in the mainstream entertainment industry as well as the adult Internet has given me exposure to people of all persuasions thankfully.
