my .htaccess files are invisable on my new server!
How do I change it to visable?
|
you cant they are a hidden file when you make it a . you have to logged into your account via telnet to view them try this command
ls -la and go up you will see them |
or if you're using WS_FTP you can set a mask of -la on the server.
|
I can do the same via cute ftp pro..... just right click your ftp site... select properties....actions....filter.....check off enable server side filtering and add -al

Cool, thanks! My other server didn't make them invisable...

If you're using WS_FTP, when you start to connect and your "sessions properties" box flips up, click on the "start-up" tab, and in the box beside "remote file mask", put in:
-a (a minus sign and an "a") That should let you see them, but be careful because you may also be seeing some of the other "hidden" stuff. Just don't fuck up anything or mess with stuff that looks like it's from your host. If you're not using WS_FTP, I guess it would be something similar. I haven't done it with CuteFTP. |
When I read your post there were zero replies, but I stopped to get my Eggos out of the toaster before I typed my reply. :glugglug I should have known better. :)

leggo my fricken eggo.
|
It depends on the ftp software your using on your server.
If you can find out what software for ftp your using you can search google for the configuration line to add. If your using Proftpd add the following line to your Proftpd.conf file: ListOptions "-a" Cheers :thumbsup |

I had actually typed Leggos, instead of Eggos. I noticed it right before I hit submit. I was thinking, "thank God I caught that cause someone would have definitely made fun of my stupid ass." :1orglaugh
Eggos are the shit. :thumbsup They've got a new kind out now- Waffulls (cause they're full of all kinds of good stuff). I'm having strawberry tonight. Yum yum. :eatmouse |
