Jesus was gay and so were at least three of his 12 disciples, according to an Australian academic.

Dr Rollan McCleary said Jesus's astrological chart, clues in the scriptures and biblical translations, all played a part in his conclusions.

In a forthcoming book, he attempts to present St John's Gospel in a new light to back up his claims, reports the Herald Sun.

Dr Rollan McCleary, a University of Queensland PhD graduate who now lives in Melbourne, has just been awarded his doctorate for a thesis on gay spirituality.

An Anglican and a qualified reader of astrological charts, Dr McCleary said the planet Uranus figured prominently in Jesus's astrological chart, as it did with many gays.

I've been thinking that for years. Ever since I broke away from my Pentacostal upbringing I've been thinking about all the things I was taught at sunday school. Jesus wandered around with a group of 12 men and never married....seems like he enjoyed the homosexual lifestyle to me.

He was Jewish, he lived a normal Jewish life until he went walk about. Go find a single Jewish man from that period. Becasue the scriptures never said he was married you assume he was single. They would never have thought itworth mentioning he was married. They would of mentioned he was single.

Also the miracle of turning water into wine was at a wedding, where he and Mary were performing the tasks of the groom and the grooms mother, under Jewish religious law.
