Trump won Pennsylvania by 20 points and now his guy is neck-and-neck with the Democrat, Gods angel Conor Lamb. What a loser! He couldn't hold Trump's lead and now he's fighting to maybe scrape by so sad for Republicans look what Trump has done to your party. Disgusting

In the end, whoever wins will have to run again in November and after the redistricting, they could have an entirely new electorate so who knows what will happen then.

That is likely true. Trump went there himself and the Republicans spent $9 million on this election running all their big guns out there to help campaign for him. If they barely hold onto a district Trump won big it's not a good sign.

It's also looking like there will be a recount as well. If the winner wins by .5% or less the state requires a recount. That could turn into a shit show.

I know each state does things their own way, but to me, it seems like it would have been better to just leave this one without a rep until the district changes and the November election or just appoint a temporary person to hold down the fort until then.

No it is a big deal - if democrats win the house all the investigations get re-opened with subpoena power - Trump will spend his entire time fighting and possibly lose in 2020. Clinton had the media with him, Trump does not. He needs the house and senate to be republican to pass legislation.

Trump lost Alabama in their last election, ALABAMA! The perfect candidate for Alabama was running and even with Trump's full throated support he lost to the Democrat!

The republican candidate was an insider and weak. It wouldnt have been so close if it wasnt for me. He would have lost bigly

My bet is that he will say something like, "He was a bad candidate. I went there and did everything I could. If I hadn't gone there he would have lost by 10 points."

The things is, Pennsylvania has been forced to redraw its districts. Those new districts will go into place sometime later this year. Lamb will have to run again in November since he is taking the seat and finishing the term of someone else. His new district may not look anything like this when it comes to what type of voters are there.

So today is only a moral victory. If he then goes and loses in November it means nothing for the Democrats.

The Republicans lost their election in Alamabama, and now this is a huge win for the Democrats - even if Lamb loses, just the fact that a Democrat came so close to winning is a staggering defeat for the Republicans.

We also have other things at play.

Trump's base is slowly losing ground as they figure out Trump is nothing but talking. A perfect example of this is the wall he promised Mexico would pay for. We are a year into his administration, the wall hasn't even started, and we still haven't discussed how we are going to pay for this. The VA is a another example. He promised to fix it, and instead he fired five thousand VA employees that are difficult to replace. He made a number of promises and has failed to make good on them. Then factor in all of the bullshit and noise - he paid hush money to a porn star he was banging, and the Russian collusion.

Then.... Look at this from a statistical side... In the midterms where one party has both the White House and both Congress and the Senate, that party tends to fair badly in the mid-terms. Even more so with any Republican who sided with Trump - that will be a huge liability.

Whatever, this is disgusting on a daily basis. And every time Trump uses the term "space force" a little piece of me dies inside.

Lamb has shown the democrats what needs to be done to compete. Now lets see if the old guard corporate democrats will follow through

It's in reality a completely reversal in what you think. Lamb has always been ahead in the polls. Saccone was down roughly 5% as of last week. Republicans rallied which included the Trump stump speech and closed the gap.

To be fair, Lamb has a young appeal.. Saccone just "looks" like old establishment.

Yeah this is big. Two takeaways. One, Centrist democrats. Get rid of the socialists and the identity politics, and it becomes an attractive party. Two, something is going on with Trump voters. Not sure if it means he is losing their support or they are too lazy to vote but something is wrong. They have 6 short months to figure it out.

The Democratic plan is to release the full Mueller report right before the mid term elections in November, which will just further ensure the Democrats will do well. Once they have the majority after the Mueller investigation is released, they will move to impeach him. By this point there will be little support left for Trump.

I agree that he will be impeached, which just takes a 50% +1, but he will not be removed. However, he will probably lose if this happens.
