Florida lawmakers on Tuesday declared pornography a health risk, and called for more research on its effects.

The House of Representatives approved a resolution, which states there needs to be more education, research and policy changes to protect Florida residents from porn.

"Research has found a correlation between pornography use and mental and physical illnesses, difficulty forming and maintaining intimate relationships, unhealthy brain development and cognitive function, and deviant, problematic or dangerous sexual behavior," Republican Rep. Ross Spano told the state?s House Health & Human Services Committee in January.

Democratic Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith criticized Tuesday?s vote, saying there are more important issues ? such as gun control ? that should be looked at by the House.

I stopped trusting the Clintons for a variety of reasons, long before this last election.

Responsible gun owners would welcome tighter restrictions on purchasing such weapons. Just like porn producers don't want their content in the hands of minors, gun owners don't want weapons in the hands of homicidal lunatics. This really shouldn't be a partisan issue.

Wouldn't that be something? I am all for keeping porn away from minors and, people who would be offended by it. But, the way that the adult industry is demonized makes no sense. Some else here mentioned Lady Ga Ga's vampire/orgy scene on American Horror. That would get censored, even on c4s but, for the mainstream, it is fine. The hypocrisy is amazing.
