A good marinade is Ok.. there are quite a few of them off the shelf that taste good. Kikomans mkes one that is garlic and herb which tastes great.

You should try a general dry rub as well.
Montreal steak seasoning is pretty good.
I usually add some garlic powder, hickory salt, regular salt and pepper and onion flakes and it's good to go:-)

fillet mignon is my favorite. freedom steak. washed down with some victory gin.

I don't marinate if it's a good tender cut of meat like tenderloin, t-bone, or new yorks. While they're grilling I baste them with a mixture of melted butter, worchestorshire sauce, garlic powder, and montreal steak seasoning.

I'm making jerky tonight outta steak, the marinade includes: Habanero hot pepper sauce, brown sugar, liquid smoke, salt, and of course a little secret sauce.

plain, with A1.

nothing beats a good seasoned juicy rump steak. a touch of salt and a bit of pepper. beautiful. marinade will never come near being as good as a seasoned rump steak.
