Facebook or Twitter for your adult website?

I understand that the obvious answer is both and already tried that before, but if you had to select one?

Whats your selection based on new followers, visitors in your website and on safety (less chances to be banned)?

I was using Facebook ads for awhile before they banned me. It worked pretty well for my fanpage. I was able to test out different areas.
Boost a post. Everyone that "likes" that post you want to invite to like your page.
Then set your future campaigns to "people who like your page and their friends"
You will see traffic build on your facebook page.
Totally fucked me and my mainstream advertising account when they decided to slam the PC hammer down on me.
My last boosted post was for an obituary for a close friend and performer.
It had a link to AVN so the Zuckerburg minions cut my advertising cord (after they absorbed plenty of my money)

I've never heard of twitter allowing any paid marketing for adult themed accounts.

I did recently hear of a method by putting an offer in a twitter post and using that shortened URL in Youtube comments. Might be too close to blackhat and/or spamming though.

Reddit will give you more visitors than Facebook and Twitter combined if you play it right.
Get crafty. aka....build gifs of your content, host them on gfycat or imgur, post to subreddits and watch your traffic rise. *Note...I did not say watch your sales rise.

j3rkules 10-30-2016 05:15 PM

Of course twitter. Facebook do not allow adult content and they will ban you once they catch you red handed (I have lost several big fanpages there and since then do not bother with facebook).

I used Reddit in the past, had visitors but Reddit visitors are pretty much useless, just interested in the specific content you post there and thats it.

The thing is does Facebook only bans you for posting adult content or even for just linking to your adult website?

They will ban even if you link to your adult sites. They are very strict about it.

I see,i didnt know that. However i know some pages that dont post nudes on facebook, but they do link to their adult websites. I guess its cause no one reported them so far.

So Twitter is the safe option, but does it worth it? In my experience it seemed that with Facebook it was easier to get followers, visitors, likes etc. But maybe its cause im more familiar with it,maybe Twitter is also good?

Twitter is safe so far, but make sure there is no nudity/pornography in the profile picture (it is against their tos). Tumblr is even better, but they will ban your blogs once you put ads on your blogs.

Tumblr seems good, but yeah they ban easily there. Also for me it didnt work, the first time i tried,i got followers and likes, but almost 0 visitors to my website, the users there just care for the content on Tumblr.

Ok,thanks for the info!

I use Twitter, Reddit, Tumblr and a few others. However, I would stay away from Facebook if you are promoting adult content.

oppoten 11-01-2016 07:48 PM

Twitter. I don't use kikebook at all.

Cool13 11-05-2016 03:08 PM

The weird thing about facebook is that i tested it by reporting 3-4 pages i know, including a small one i have and all the reports came back clean. None of them linked to a porn wesbite, just to nude-topless content websites.

Do they use bots or someone actually checked the pages? If the second happened, then it seems that they are only against nude content inside facebook.

sexy_media 11-15-2016 02:14 AM

Twitter, though don't let anyone tell you you're invincible. They randomly shut down pages all the time and give no reason to why.

Daniel BongaCash 11-22-2016 07:02 AM

Twitter for sure :thumbsup

Andreweb 11-22-2016 09:15 AM

Twitter works for me even that I don't put a lot of work on it!

Kralj187 11-24-2016 03:54 AM

definitely twitter

Casie Smith 11-25-2016 08:34 AM

Hello there !

You can use both. With FB you have to be a bit careful and respect their guidelines but if you must select one then go with Twitter !!! :upsidedow

Cool13 02-09-2017 11:35 AM

You guys warned me,but i didnt believe they would be @ssholes but indeed they are.

I invested some time and from 0 followers i went to 300,but yesterday my page was restricted from their system. It happened after a post so thats why im sure it was just an auto restriction.

Of course i sent a message and appealed since im following the guidelines, but they turned it down. They used as an excuse (probably a copy-paste msg) that my page had bad reviews etc thats why they wont open it again. This is clearly a lie because my fans are not unhappy, but the opposite, also i wasnt losing any fans, only gaining.

To the above, add that a while ago they were asking me for an id for another account i had and obviously i had to close that account and also another page that it was under that account.

So f@ck off facebook. :|

j3rkules 02-09-2017 12:08 PM

Do not waste time with them, they will ban you everytime you open your page. Believe me, I have done that...

rdunn 02-09-2017 03:16 PM

Twitter can be good if you use it correctly, use of hashtags etc and regular (not spammy) updates.

fappy 02-09-2017 04:06 PM

Stumbleupon is good as well, set your account to adult and they give you access to the adult categories, as with reddit the traffic doesn't turn to sales but if you have a good brand and memorable content hopefully people commit your site to memory and it pops up first after the desire to fapricate.

And imagine that i was very careful with the content-posts and i know similar websites that have their page there without any problems.

I used StumbleUpon a year or more ago and at first it seemed good but very shortly afterward I noticed that after I posted a new thing on StumbleUpon the traffic changed. Instead of some people it was only ever 1 person and it was always from the exact same city / location - the same location as StumbleUpon is based out of. I think they black listed me or something and it was some sort of bot that would come over after ever post.

Facebook is shit. It's also a total hypocrite and a scumbag asshole. While it will ban you for posting porn, it still allows people to post porn inside private groups and almost all of it does not comply with the 2257 statement. Lots of what people post seems very sketchy and I even once thought I came across illegal content. I quickly left the group and reported it however I was banned from facebook the next week for using a fake name. I imagine these shady scumfuck private groups are still operating no problem. FB won't allow me to even attempt to create a new account without providing 2 forms of government photo ID and 2 proofs of home address now. Fuck that shit. Another thing I noticed from FB is that it will scan your website before accepting a link. It will decline your link if it finds anything on your website that is banned but not only that, if your website links to another website that is banned you will not be able to post your link at all. It's very shady, it wouldn't let me post because I link to chaturbate which is they banned.

Twitter has been good for me but as time goes on it's becoming less and less useful. It was very useful in the day when people could only post images. When animated gifs came in it became very good. When video came in it started becoming bad and has only been getting worse because people will just post entire videos segmented into 2 min 20 second clips so people don't even leave twitter to see porn now they have it all there for free (also ad-free).

Anyways, that's just some thoughts on these social medias I thought I'd share. For me twitter is still by far the best, I think because I created custom animated gifs that are unique from the promotional content I promote. tumblr is okay but pretty meh.

Miguel T 03-13-2017 06:33 PM

Twitter :)

3xFactor 03-19-2017 06:49 PM

Most of my Social Traffic comes for StumbleUpon followed by Tumblr.

jbvryant 03-21-2017 12:51 PM

Twitter , you need to be more cautious and crafty when using FB
