One of my favorite love ballads:

Of course, Paul McCartney knows a thing or two about love ballads too:

George Martin, who was famous as the Beatles producer, also produced quite a bit for America:

Hoping to get tickets for McCartney's concert at Candlestick Park this August (the last Beatles live show was played at Candlestick, and it will be the last event at the stadium, after which it will be demolished)... :)

I play this America song on my 12-string all the time (I love metal music, but I'm a folkie at heart):

Dan Peek, who left the band in 1977 (after their biggest hits) to pursue a Christian music career, passed away a few years ago in 2011... :(

Another McCartney and Wings love opus:

When Pete Seeger passed recently I was going through my folk singer favorites and such and had completely forgotten about America, srsly. But scrolling down this thread, I think they may have been my favorite folk band/artist. I didn't realize. I had thought it was neil young.
