The one that I saw on display was pretty grainy.. I hope that's just from a non-HDMI input or unusual wear from being in the store.

EddyTheDog 05-11-2013 02:29 PM

Does it come with the Korean hooker?

I was told that the fluorescent lights in stores fucks with LCD displays. . not sure if that's true or if it does the same thing with LED displays or not

YEARS ago, yes. Now.. not at all.

What causes grainy looking HD displays in stores is the split signals and the demos they set up with Monster cable that makes all non-monster setups look bad (purposely).

Monster cables are a complete myth. No evidence supports the hypothesis that they provide a better picture.

If you have any evidence to counter what I've offered, feel free to share it. Otherwise, educate yourself and stop spouting nonsense.

Thousands...

Anyway, I still find it senseless now, as there is not a single tv channel streaming with that quality, neither there are videos on the internet.

for the price of the tv, they should throw in the Korean girl for a month. Love those PR stunts with hot girls and TV's. Only they could pull that off.

a regular bluray player doesnt play 4k - there's not even a disc format for 4k yet

http://tech2.in.com/opinions/hdtvs/t...is-year/774772

there are no movies available in 4k - anywhere

you can buy a RED camera and watch your own movies

here's a little part of the article above

To illustrate just how ridiculously convoluted the situation is just now, Sony?s current solution is to ?loan? buyers of its 84-inch 4K Bravia model a PC with content preloaded onto it. New content can be delivered via multiple Blu-ray data discs or a Sony representative will have to come to your house to manually update it. That?s their idea of a distribution system.
now everyone have fun with their massively expensive but useless TV :winkwink:

I think in the future holographic discs (with 1 terabyte capacity) will be the distribution media, but as far as I know, holographic discs are yet on prototypes, not very useful yet.

yuu.design 05-12-2013 07:45 PM

Scott McD 05-13-2013 12:59 PM

I did not say Monster was better or anything of the like. Monster typically demands that stores selling their products, PURPOSELY make non-monster cables give grainy and terrible signals. When I worked in retail, we had boxes that would split hdmi. One with monster, one with a cheapo brand. No matter which cable used, the non-monster labeled side of box always looked like shit. So they are misleading people into believing monster is better when it's the box making people think its better on the "monster" side.

I am not a supporter of, nor do I believe in Monster's absurb claims.

Another crazy fact.

Back when I was in this retail store, the store cost for a 6 foot cable is as follows:

Monster, $10.
Store brand, $10.

Retail price?
Monster, $50
Store brand, $20.

Same spec, same performance. Monster is a scam.

Well I don't agree about the cables, but you're definitely right about the split to hell signals AND I finally found out why all televisions look blocky to me on cable or satellite- it's because cable and satellite are compressed to hell signals, in the first place

This is so true.
Anyone who wants good HDMI cables can get them at http://www.monoprice.com/ anyway
