1000th Post. Time for a rant.
 

Wow, already at 1000. Just wanted to say a few things to the people on GFY.

1. I've met some amazing people here. Being that I never hit a webmaster board in my life until last December I had no idea of the spectrum of people that were webmasters. It's great to see so many people from all walks of like in one place discussing anything and everything.

2. To all the newbies to the business, don't listen to 99% of the shit talk you get when you ask a question here. I'm not saying that every one of you are cut out for this business but too many people are quick to try to run your ass down when you come here with a valid question. Approach this business like any other and you will be fine. If something doesn't work fix it. It's funny seeing all the people that say you need $10,000 to do that or you'll go broke, don't get into TGP you'll lose your ass for 6 months, blah blah fucking blah. I have never invested a large sum of money to get in any biz and I have made a profit with everything I've tried. The most money I had invested in a business online or off is $1200 but usually I start with nothing more than what I already have. When I start something I want to make money immediately and with any sense at all it can be done. Point being, don't give up on the ignorant advice of those that couldn't do it themselves.

3. Stop fucking whining. "Free porn is killing the business", "Choker makes it too easy", and so on. Free porn has been on the net since I can remember and the business doesn't look dead to me. Some people are very rich giving away "free" porn while you're bitching about it. Get the fuck over it and move on with your life.

"You can't make money with that crappy design". This is a great one. I make my design "crappy" on purpose because in my case it sells better. Personally I am sick of seeing all the slick splash pages that try to make a site look like it's the only one in the world with pics and videos inside. Some people do very well with their "shitty" design. I have tried both and do better with it. Most adult sites come off as just another infomercial that tries to buff up the same product everyone else is pushing.

"You can't charge that much for a paysite". Bullshit. Maybe you can't charge that much for your site but some people can and will. I have personally set up many camgirls to do shows on Ifriends etc and have watched them get $500 a week from one guy just for chatting. You're telling me people will pay $3.00 a minute to watch a cam show or dial up through a dialer but they won't drop $40 to $60 or more on a site if it interests them? Alot of these girls make more than most webmasters. Porn is a spur of the moment buy for most. An extra $20 isn't going to kill the majority of people that are online surfing for porn. I've been known to spend alot more on shit that I didn't need. $8.00 a movie on pay per view when I can get in a site with hundreds of them for $40? Hmmm. On the same note I remember when EVERY porn site was $20 or less. How many of you were the same ones saying $40 would never work. Looks like the norm now.

I'll quit ranting now. Feel free to send your insults. It's one of the things I love about this board.
