Google Analytics

Are you still comfortable using them, or do you use a third party for your websites?

:helpme

bluebook18 08-18-2012 07:06 AM

u-Bob 08-18-2012 07:10 AM

I'm not using them.

AllAboutCams 08-18-2012 07:15 AM

i stopped using them and seeing better results

Zeiss 08-18-2012 07:39 AM

I am totally not using them because I use something else that gets you good LIVE statistics and has a top 100 with a link to your site, if you have good traffic. It is not that hard to be there - 10k visits daily guarantee you that and it is a PR6 link.

beks001 08-18-2012 07:59 AM

I use them...however, if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear! Keep in mind none of my sites get more than 5k a month.

I do see a few ppl here using http://extremetracking.com/

Freaky_Akula 08-18-2012 08:26 AM

I do not use them and I do not buy links from anyone who does use them.

When you buy links, if anyone asks be sure to say that they are 'for incoming traffic' and not to manipulate PR or search engine ranks in any way.. That way you won't get in trouble for bought links :upsidedow

That's what I am thinking, especially if you're interlinking.

That being said, I am looking to see what some of the alternatives people are using are.

Call me stupid, but what is wrong with Analytics?

No one said there is a problem with "Analytics". We are talking about using Google's versus others.

beks001 08-18-2012 11:15 AM

Let's break it down first...
what is the benefit of using them?

what is the anticipated benefit of not using them?

livexxx 08-18-2012 12:16 PM

I think they are still good for amateur owners to use, but would look at piwik because of it's live stats, dashboards, widgets and their API so you can punch in events and read out stats to a central BIS dashboard. Mixpanel is also better for tracking events. Likewise google provide an OK multi-variate testing, but there are others out there, notably maxymiser for mainstream projects.

I assume that using tools from Google like Analytics, Adsense, Blogger, Webmaster Tools etc. would secretly be benefited by G. Using them at least lets G know that your site(s) exist.. :question
