hosting / affiliate spam problem
 

Hey.. which hosts actually understand that sometimes affiliates spam and there's nothing you can do about it other than cancel them/don't threaten to shut you off due to things like this..? I suppose they can't help what their upstreams say but if they buy enough bandwidth they shouldn't care all too much as long as spam isn't originating from network..

Are you saying Candid will kick you off really fast for that? when you say (fun) or are you saying they really are so huge and deal with massive bandwidth purchases they don't get hounded as bad by there suppliers about spam?

Pretty much for the last year we have offered
Dedicated Landing Page servers for people / companies that send out email ads. Customers send emails, with links to there dedicated server on our network, from there they either go somewhere else via link, or to a signup page on the landing page server.

Complaints are not a problem at all on our network, and we have only had 20 minutes downtime in 5+ months.

The only thing Not allowed is email sent directly from your landpage server. It must be sent out from somewhere else.

Each customer gets his or her own dedicated machine which is a:

P4 1.7 gig, 512 megs ram, 60 gig hd.

Freebsd, Firewall, SSH, FTP, etc.

All setup by our sysadmin, and security is #1 with us.

yes affiliates do send out emails. most programs of course don't like to admit such things, but it's been happ. for many years.

When we ran paysites from 1995-1998 we sent our millions of emails per day. We haven't spammed since 98, but I personally have never ever had a problem with it.

That is why last year we setup this company in europe to host landing page servers.

With the economy not doing so great now, webmasters are always looking for alt. sources for sales, etc.
