phpBB2 Version 2.x.x- HELP

I want to put some banner on top of the forum index, which file can I modify? I tried but there are like 100s files there and i dont know which one.

Why not post this question on their message board. It probably something that's been answered a bunch of times and would be answered for you with a simple search.
