great movie...I had no idea shit was so violent back then......

It's worth seeing, but I found it to be quite uneven. It's a bit like watching a Spaghetti western, they have all the right parts but there is just something wrong.

It rocks :) I'd been waiting a few years for this one and was there the day it opened. They've already sent out the DVD screeners for the Academy Awards, so there are some nice rips online. That is, if you don't want to wait.

Leonardo DiCaprio not trashing the movie...????

it's a good movie but a little too long. i have a good svcd rip of it.

excellent movie.

When I walked out of the movie house, i was perplexed... tought it was long, etc...

Then, a few days later I was discussing with a friend and realised that finally I did like the movie and is definitively worth seeing it...
It was also shot here in Montreal...

Daniel Day Lewis steals the show... even if DiCaprio is excellent ( BTW, he is great in Catch me if you can).

It was a great movie but it was to long.

You think of the titanic shit at first but you forget about it real fast. Yes, other actors may have looked a little "tougher" in that role but Leonardo did a good job.

Whoever did the wardrobe in that movie deserves an award. Those costumes had to have been authentic looking to the last detail. The whole lifestyle of that time must have been captured in that movie. They seemed to have done their homework..

Yes the movie was long but I was captivated throughout the whole movie..There were only a few times where my concentration waned....

I'm just glad I didn't live back then. Life must have sucked. Especially being a black man..That must have been shitty...

If i lived back then, I would have been a hardcore criminal. There was no way I could work one of those hard ass jobs for a few shillings and live like shit...

But Gotdamn, I couldn't imagine dying with a long knife stuck in my stomach or an axe to my skull....Jesus Christ that shit was violent!!!

I loved the movie, not for it's main story line but for the historical content. I learned alot of shit, didn't know shit was so violent back then either, those riots in the city, the army coming in and all that

I agree, this was the truly entertaining part about it. It was kinda like watching one of those Hollywood blockbuster historical movies in history class like Glory or something. Kinda long, drawn out but very entertaining.

I fell asleep twice watching it. The action scenes were pretty nice
though.
