spamcop.net makes spam and want money!!!
 

Men I get a spam from spamcop.net wanting money for their fight against spammers. Firstly I'm not a spammer, but it's it weird that a spam stopper dudes spam around? E-mail says they spam to 20 million.

And look at the sign 'Steve Linford - God of the Internet' :1orglaugh

Did we -internet users- created this guy?

SpamCop is the gayest waste of time EVER!

i keep on telling people prevention is hell of alot easier than wasting your time taking action

Yep, those come out every once in awhile. Haight has had to redirect stuff quite a bit.

This one was actually intelligently written, who knew. Grammatically, I mean. Noone with half a brain would take it seriously based on the subject matter.

But it was amsuing to see the spam wannabes come out of the woodwork to rail on SpamCop. It's so eeeeevil!

What bullshit from those guys. Get all the hackers together, port scan, DDOS attacks. If I am not mistaken, a company was sued for port scanning and won a judgement. Don't remember the URL but it was great reading.

RBL's I think are a great service to add to blocking out spam, but when you start blocking UUNet, Sprint and a slew of other Tier 1 providers, you are asking to start losing business.

Spam sucks, but they should be fighting this on a legistalitve level and not like they are still in Jr High looking to retaliate.

You need to post that at some hosting boards and see what the reaction will be. They will be pissed to say the least.

Dude, read the thread - this email is from a spammer trying to discredit spamcop.

Every now and then I got Emails from them too. Today was such a day. The funny thing is that he sends out notices for domains I don't even have emails set up to nor does my server allow to send email with that domain path.

But it's still funny. Personally I don't like spamcop, because they some years ago they blocked my mail server because of they thought I'm sending spam. I was just sending my weekly e-mail to my opt-in 16k mailing list! I couldn't get customer e-mails for 3 days and I lost money. I was not spamming, this spamcop names EVERY PORN MAILER SPAMMER !

And I believe it's useless I'm still getting around 1000 spams every day. Spammers always find a way, they must fight with them on court.

Spamcop doesn't block shit. Spamcop has a blacklist which they DON'T RECOMMEND that ISPs use to block. If you got on SPEWs or MAPS it because you were spamming.

Not true, they will block whole C-and B classes if you are on the same network as a spammer, and if you take over an IP block from a ISP that had a spammer, well you are fucked.

Can't fucking read? Yes, they have a blacklist. Yes, they are overzealous in what they block. They also say to ISPs to NOT USE IT! They recommend SPEWs or MAPS instead.

That's like saying because I block spam from ifriends that "Oh my god, IFriends entire class C is blocked! Backov's got him on his block list, woe is me."

I know how they block. 'Block' means generic as I don't want to write the system of how it works here. Read my message carefully again. It writes that I'm not a spammer. My first and last spam was at 1996 on my lame days. I'm emailing to my mailing list.

Steve Linford @ Spamhaus told me that this is a joe job, they didn't send it.

This is so obviously fake it doesn't deserve comment. I love SpamCop and use them daily.

Spam is here for life, who can go wrong with free direct marketing to millions of people?

I agree with playa in saying that prevention is a better spent 10 minutes than taking action for the rest of your time on the net.
