just quit cold turkey, buy some juicy fruit and pretend its nicorette.

I tried the nicotine patches, gums, etc. but the only thing that helped me was Chantix. I quit June 1st, 2008.

Hey Juicy I own a clinic in San Diego that does Laser treatment. It's only been in the USA for a few years yet in Europe its been around 32+ years now. It has absolutely zero side effects other than make you very relaxed and tired. Treatment takes an hour including a talk on other steps you need to take after the treatment. There is no pain as it's a Class 3 low level laser. If you left the laser in one place on your skin for an hour all it does is leave a red mark.
There is no cutting just a slight tingling as the laser excites the areas on your ears nose and hands. If you are ready and I mean if you really want to stop because you know its harming you then you have a great chance at stopping. Over the course of treating 2300 clients in 2007-2008 we got an 80% success rate over a 6 month period. The big issue you will have is not drinking coffee for at least 3 weeks and no alcohol whatsoever for about the same time. No bars no clubs, but dont worry sex is OK. If you need more info hit me up on ICQ. I had this treatment in London 18 years ago and never ever had another Fag ( Cigarette ) Im not saying other methods dont work but most have side effects and Zyban being the best drug so far available is only 20-27% effective. A few people have the will power to stop without the aid of any drugs, hypnosis or lasers but I have only known a few of these lucky people. Cost for laser treatment is around $400.00, normally just one treatment is all thats needed, follow ups are around $100 if required to keep you calm ! Quote:

I stopped buying them, and rationed the last ones as long as I could. Then I raided the ashtry. Then I had no tobbaco left anymore.
Rationing was done by leaving the pack downstairs when I came upstairs and vice versa. Forces you to think about it when you do that automatic "reach for a smoke" and realise the pack is not at your fingertips. The fewer you have left, the longer you'll wait, and they you're a non-smoker. |
Smoke a joint instead whenever you want a cigarette.
|
I used nicorette for about 4 months, then went off that cold turkey. At the time I smoked, I did about 2 packs a day.
This August is my 8th year of non-smoking. |
I used to smoke, then I quit smoking, and pretend like some hot chick was smoking ME!

Who's done more research than the good people at the American Tobacco Industry? They say its harmless. Why would they lie? If you're dead, you can't smoke.
|
Stopped about 2 months ago and been smoking since i was 13 :)
NICORETTE INHALERS - Now just please tell me how to kick those LOL |

My last smoke was literlly 5 minutes before I went climbed onto the bed for surgery (colon cancer) I woke up wareing a patch and they alternated arm's for the next week. I actually "forgot" I was a smoker while I was in the hospital. At home, I wore the patch for a few more days but basicly, I feel more like I went cold turkey. HOWEVER ,, 2 years later, I still crave and I even still consider myself a "smoker". I still step outside after a meal (and just stand there) I still go back to whereever I just was because I forgot my smokes (I'll move things looking for my lighter) I have even bought smokes ! All my old routines, I still have. The tabacky really has a hold of me, and I just can't seem to shake it. I say.. (as a cancer survivor) if you don't have health concerns, keep smoking. please re-read what "Jesus Hoobastank Christ" posted above.. 100% acurate |

I've been working on it for about a week. The first few days I tried to go cold turkey but felt like a crack feign. Tearing up the house trying to find something to smoke. Picking out tobacco leaves from the carpet and shit.. lol j/k But it was pretty bad. The first few days I had 1 cigarette but I didn't leave the house because I knew as soon as I did I would stop and get a pack. I got sick of fucking candy, snacks, and eating every fucking thing else in the house so I'm trying the scale back attack. Like someone mentioned earlier I've left them in my car so it takes a stroll to get a smoke.

Getting another addiction is not the solution. Maybe the new one is not as bad as smoking but you're not solving the problem here.
You can try drinking some water or even better, try to change your habits of anxiety. That's a good self exercise to do and self improve everyday. You need a change on your behave. Otherwise i think soon or later come back to it or to any other similar shit just because you didn't get to the point. |
I worked for a guy had hypnosis and never smoked again.
|
into my 3rd month without smokes and the Champix made it easy as hell - never felt like I wanted a smoke the whole time.
--edit and I was a packet-a-day smoker for 18 yrs I finally think I've kicked this fucker in the nuts |
I used patches for 8 weeks.
|
Forget all the solutions, just STOP. I stopped over 5 years ago and it's still one of the best decisions i've ever made...
If you really understand how bad smoking is and that you don't need it you just stop... |
A few of my fathers friends and an uncle of mine quit with Hypnosis.. Really i think it's just a placebo of sorts, if you psych yourself up thinking it will work, it will...
Whether you think you can, or you think you cant... You're right. |

Still smoking. :warning |
All that stuff sucks. You need the patch, you need to be strong and you need to stay away from drinking for 6 months. 3 months clean and counting!

cold turkey.
will power. i kicked smoking and drinking with no drgs or medication, if i can, ANYONE can, i was physically addicted to both. couldnt wake up without shaking for a drink and a cigarette... i am sure you arent that bad. you dont need anything but your WILL |

if you truly wanted to quit you would. there are many of us who were smokers and quit, without any replacement drugs, and if we can do it, you can. |
Pure will to quit...
|
I don't smoke since May and I haven't used anything.
I even casually light one in a bar or something, but never smoked at home and never bought a pack of cigarettes. And I don't even enjoy it. You change the mindset, you don't need it, that's it. |
I donīt use anything to replace the cigarrete, but what I increased a lot was the consume of water. Now I work with a bottle of water next to me, and I drink almost 3 liters a day. In some way I made a replace of habit, at least during the time I am in front of my computer.

snacks, sex, exercise, chew some gum?
good luck Juicy :) |
We just quit about 14 days ago and I feel great. As of yet, no weight gain. We are eating allot of fruits. I usually eat some fruit or stick pretzels. The pretzels are low fat, but I enjoy the fruit more than the pretzels as it fills me up and is healthy to eat....so I eat as much as I want. Salads are great too :thumbsup
The hardest thing is not having it with my coffee in the morning so we switched to West Lake Tea we purchased at the Chinese Cultural Center. With this tea you can still puff and will gradually lose the urge to smoke, but we quit and are using the tea to curb the DT's ....so to speak. Here is a link. http://curingherbs.com/stop_smoking_tea.htm Good luck to ya. You will be surprised on how much money you save and you will be healthier in the end. why did I not quit years ago is beyond me, but I am looking forward to living healthier. In the end, it takes discipline and keeping yourself occupied to keep your mind off of wanting to smoke. I also walk and exercise to keep the weight off. Good luck Juicy :thumbsup |
I used Chantix to quit and it worked great for me. It's not for everyone but most are able to kick the habit.
