FACT: If you prefer Grey Goose over Belvedere you are...

... lacking the ability to smell rubbing alcohol or just don't care about drinking liquids that smell like rubbing alcohol.

V_RocKs 12-11-2007 01:23 AM

Chopin is OK to drink... They also know what triple distilling can do for bad smells.

Deej 12-11-2007 01:24 AM

try Rain... vodka sucks anyway... but try rain

and yes, grey goose sucks, I certainly dont see the craze ... its shit ... its right there with potters

for a second i thought Scottybuzz made this thread...

96ukssob 12-11-2007 01:40 AM

my :2 cents: a bottle of grey goose will pull more ass than a bottle of belvedere any day.

V_RocKs 12-11-2007 01:43 AM

Vodka that smells like rubbing alcohol and gives you the shits because it is full of impurities:

Ciroc
Grey Goose
Ketel One
PINK
Vox
Stolichnaya
Smirnoff
Absolut
Svedka
Level
Popov
SKYY
Zodiac

Do not be fooled by their massive ad campaigns that cause them to charge you more for crap that smells like rubbing alcohol. Ad money doesn't make you premium. Taste does.

Quote:

When Sidney Frank created Grey Goose, he priced it well above established competitors such as Absolut. This high price created a perception of quality. Frank's strategy proved successful, as Grey Goose was a financial hit and led to significant changes in the market. Many people attribute Grey Goose as being a major inspiration for the various other high-priced vodkas. See, e.g. Levitt, Steven D., "Is Vodka Different?" Freakonomics Blog (August 31, 2007). Examples of vodkas that would follow in the footsteps of Grey Goose include Valt from Scotland Cîroc, from France, and Level, from Sweden.

Really? I don't think Vodka is going to pull in ass... Looks would do way more and so would money.

Hip hop artists such as The Game have given free advertisements to Belvedere Vodka by mentioning it in many of their songs. The Game mentions that his drink of choice is Belvedere vodka with the Snapple flavor Go Bananas in the title track of his second album Doctor's Advocate. Rapper Jay-Z mentions Belvedere in several songs on the album The Dynasty: Roc La Familia. Jagged Edge also mentions Belvedere in the song Where the Party At. Juicy J also mentions Belvedere Vodka and cranberry juice, calling it the engineered high in the song "Smoke Dat Weed"
Things may change...

He also hired models across the states to go to bars/clubs and when people tried to buy the girls drinks they said "i only drink grey goose." THAT is what put Grey Goose on the map.

At first grey goose couldnt sell for shit.

Same thing with jagermeister, no one liked it. So he sent off the "Jager Girls" to colleges across the states.

Smart thinking :thumbsup
Seemed to pay off

of course... but i mean if i order a bottle of goose over belvedere im willing to bet that the bottle of goose will help close the deal a little easier then the other.

most people know grey goose from the name and associate it with high status... at least from what i see

Deej 12-11-2007 01:51 AM

Im sure. at the same time have you ever had Cristal? it used to be "the" champagne at $500+ a bottle but tastes like complete shit. i would prefer a $5 bottle of peach andre over Cristal any day by taste, but just ordering it by name makes you that much cooler

im not female or russian... but i like the vaginas :Oh crap

im still a big fan of barcardi and diet, but nothing quite mixes will with redbull like vodka

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 12-11-2007 02:01 AM

i'm rye/scotch, tequila, or gin all the way. no room for rum or vodka in this belly...

sicone 12-11-2007 02:01 AM

I prefer Grey Goose because it has a dryer taste to it then most vodkas and I find it mixes better with red bull then the others.

And to me, all vodka smells/tastes like rubbing alcohol, I have to already be drunk to even attempt to drink it straight.

sicone 12-11-2007 02:02 AM

For shots.. Patron Silver all the way

Being 36 and happily unmarried for 13 years I don't give a shit if chicks want to sit in my VIP area because all they do is cost money. When someone comes in they are there to do business or if it is a celebration then they are there to celebrate.

While in the VIP area they get to learn a few things... One of them, Cristal tastes like horse manure. Grey Goose is for disinfecting surface skin before giving booster shots. etc...

After a hard night of drinking with me, those people will call me the next day and they all say the same thing, "DUDE, This is the first time I have ever partied like that and not have a hang over like a mother fucker! Thanks!"

Go to the store and pick up a bottle of Chopin or Belvedere. Smell it. There will be only the smell of ether alcohol. That is because they distill it 4 times and then filter it twice. 99.999% of impurities are not there that other Vodkas don't give a shit about and leave in... That is why all others smell like rubbing alcohol.

Exactly. I remember sitting around before a party one weekend sometime last year thinking to myself about premium whiskey and scotch, and thinking "hey, the more you pay for whiskey, the better it tends to be". Then I had this brilliant idea, that maybe the same would apply to vodka. I thought "hey, maybe you've just been hating on vodka cause you haven't drank good vodka" Then I went out and bought a bottle of Chopin.I had about 3 caesers and was done with that shit. Gave the bottle away and bought an 18 dollars bottle of Royal Reserve and got shitfaced in style...

To this day my favorite hard liquor is RR rye, the cheapest nastiest shit on the shelf...

If you perfer Vodka to real alcohol you are a drunk :) Why is the the best known vodkas selling for for 40-50 dollars a bottle? Because it is cheap and crap. IMHO

I was at Ralphs the other day and the liquor guy was telling me that there is some new tequila called "presidente" that is imported directly from mexico and is supposed to be more smooth and taste better than patron. we shall see, i have my name on the waiting list :winkwink:

TurboAngel 12-11-2007 02:11 AM

I like Kettle One myself.

if i was not so lazy, i would go give this a try now. there is about another 48 minutes left to buy booze in California, but i have a feeling that i will sample to much and end up waking up in a gutter tomorrow morning

V_RocKs 12-11-2007 02:17 AM

Patron Silver is a good tequila for sure...

But this is a Vodka thread.

there is this brand new tequila I got last time... they are selling it cheap because its new, but its top shelf... looks imported I think that might be the name of it... tall slender bottle... if it is the same it IS pretty smooth... but i wouldnt say more smooth than patron... patron is ungodly smooth...

That isn't laziness. Just the honest truth. :winkwink:

Evil E 12-11-2007 02:21 AM

Not a big fan of Vodka, but Belvedere is what I usually buy when I pass by the duty free because it's cheap and good. And I also like the bottle :)

I never really bother to ask in bars, because if I order a bottle, I'll usually get the cheaper stuff and it will be mixed.
