Who the fuck needs a 20GB iPod?

"20 GB model holds up to 5,000 songs"

i mean really... can you even name 5,000 fucking songs? this is getting ridiculous...

Doctor Dre 08-12-2005 10:38 PM

I have way more then that on my external HD ... mostly full discographies thought.

Can you put mp3s on ipods ?

Easton 08-12-2005 10:41 PM

i guess i'm just not a music lover... my HDs hold 320 GBs each but i could never imagine listening to 5,000 songs... LOL

Easton 08-12-2005 10:45 PM

fuck i must really be getting old :(

Axeman 08-12-2005 10:51 PM

I have a 20 gig one thats less than half full. And I bet 20% of those songs are useless.

Grinder 08-12-2005 10:51 PM

I have a 40 gig player. In addition to music I have several audio books as well as a Pimsleur audio language course. You would be surprised at how fast it fills up when you start loading large audio files.

I've never done it but I think it can also be used as a jump drive.

tenderobject 08-12-2005 10:52 PM

i got 60 gigs ipod. and i got almost 150-300gigs of mp3s in my hds/cdr/dvdr. yeah sure i could listen to them. :P

SilverTab 08-12-2005 10:52 PM

I see no use in it eighter...and dont get me wrong, I LOVE music...but with the 4gig, I have well enough...if I get tired of the 1000 songs...well I just change them...

(although I WOULD use the 20gig as an external HD)...

no it's just a way to attract people to buy it. I bet most don't even know what a gigabyte or what an mp3 is.

pr0 08-12-2005 10:55 PM

yea i really wanna pay $1 a song :1orglaugh

JasonB 08-12-2005 11:01 PM

You can load anything onto an iPod. Not just music you buy from iTunes. :winkwink:

Jace 08-12-2005 11:04 PM

i download on average 5-8 full albums every 3 days or so...i put the whole album on the ipod and check it out...right now I have my 20gb ipod about half full

i can't fill it up with shit i will listen to all the time...i like music and all, but i also don't wanna hear the same songs over and over

iwantchixx 08-12-2005 11:29 PM

I've only got about 10 of 20 gigs on mine filled up.

It doesn't hold 5,000 songs. That's only if the tracks are like 2 megs a piece.

woj 08-13-2005 12:28 AM

It seems like a lot, but it probably fills up quick... last time I bought a hard drive, it was 5x the size of my old one, not even a month has passed before I filled it up to 80%...

I just got the 60GB IPOD with photo.

I don't have the 20GB even half, so this should be fun.

yeah, or low quality, like 68kbps

all my mp3s are 192kbps+ so it fits quite less than 5,000....but still a shitload

WiredGuy 08-13-2005 12:49 AM

I hate the iPod I got, the battery dies before I even fill up the whole thing with files. WTF is up with that?!
WG

webcrawler 08-13-2005 01:05 AM

I have the 20GB ipod with only 3GB left space available. Most entries are full albums from every genre.

same here man. My iPod is ~8 months old and still kicks ass in the battery department

VeriSexy 08-13-2005 01:49 AM

I wish the PSP has 20GB of storage............. I think max is 4GB but cost like $600

Downtime 08-13-2005 02:18 AM

they're pretty cool IMO, you'd be surprised how many songs you know!

WiredGuy 08-13-2005 02:20 AM

It takes me 3 charges in order to fill the ipod with data, if its that bad, what are the odds I can play anything. Its sitting at my office, useless junk as far as I'm concerned.

Mine use to die after 15 minutes, I figured out the problem. I killed 3 ipods, all by connecting it to my usb port. I decided to connect it to my firewire port and haven't had an issue with my ipod this time round thank fuck.

The space isnt really an issue, I've got maybe 16gb used. People who have 40gb+ can't possibly listen to all those songs. :1orglaugh

justsexxx 08-13-2005 04:27 AM

I already own 200 music cd's(all legal) That makes around 3000 songs. And 5000 is also not very hard to reach...

polish_aristocrat 08-13-2005 04:30 AM

who the fuck needs an Ipod to begin with?

Pete-KT 08-13-2005 04:30 AM

I have near 10,000 mp3's on my desktop

MikeVega 08-13-2005 04:32 AM

I'll probably never us all 20gigs ... but i use it as an external HD also .. good for bringing extra files with my on biz

Yup music is not the only thing Ipod can be used for, and 20GB is nothing when you also have other audio files.

tungsten 08-13-2005 04:53 AM

i got the 20gb one and its halfway full.. come to think of it, gotta update the songs

NickRac 08-13-2005 04:53 AM

I still couln't use 20 GB - I'm going to stick w/ the 4 GB ipod Mini - thats does just fine for me.

NickRac 08-13-2005 04:54 AM

P.S. It's almost time to go to school which means it's time for a new ipod (I sold the old one last year) - I wish apple would have a "back to school sale" and bump like $50 off

Nick

Tuga 08-13-2005 05:21 AM
