Sponsors deleting 'inactive' affiliate accounts = unprofessional

Who is that sponsor? What if I am ramping up an ad campaign and had no sales for 8 weeks because I was prepping. Then I launch and my links are all dead?
Please expose these buggers. |
We at KM bucks don't clean out inactive affiliate accounts.
We would rather try to contact affiliates and help them promote our program. I just think that is common sense! |
at least they emailed you instead of just shutting you down
|
Sponsors who do that don't realize how many webmasters took part in the build it and forget it types of campaigns years ago. Either that, or they do realize and they're crooks who want to steal trickle traffic.
|
Why not hit you up and ask if there is anything they can do to make you ACTIVE?
Poor marketing |

I also don't like when sponsor deletes an inactive accounts :(
|
If they delete me, i'am gone forever
|
they must use it as a sales tactic because deleting webmasters is absolutely insane.

But yeah, there's no real reason to delete old accounts. None what so ever. |
Name and shame 'em

I have had lots of accounts I haven't used in ages then they bring out new sites and I go back and try them again, I probably wouldn't bother if they had deleted me and I had to signup again.

disk space costs $$ :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
stupid to delete |

sending an email like that seems like a way of threatening you to promote them. They should just send an email saying they noticed you were inactive and if theres anything they can do to help.:2 cents:
|
Zangocash did the same thing, they "deactivated" my account with like $30 in it.
|
out the fuckers
|
u-bob, I just sent you an ICQ.
|
The program is just plain ignorant to send such an email or the program is trying to rip you off because you either have money in your account below the required minimum for payout or you have rebills. Either way, why would you want to continue doing business with them?

that's bs, 8 weeks? wtf are they thinking, if it was 2 years or something I would understand, but 8 weeks is just crazy...
|
mainstream does this all the time.
|
8 weeks does seem like a rather short period. but if they were honestly trying to scam you they wouldn't of sent out the email. some programs also have huge databases full of fake accounts because surfers sit and make logins all day to get access the promo content and gallery links. there is a cost involved in that.
|
I know a Hentai AVS deletes affiliate accounts that are below minimum payout & never pays you
|
sounds to me like a way from them to get you to start sending traffic
|
It is my belief that they were attempting to use fear tactics to get you to promote them more to save your account from deletion. Seems to have failed.
|
no sales or no clicks? even with 0 clicks they still shouldn't delete accounts.
|
Makes no sense. :eek7

Even if some webmasters respond by protesting it or by sending traffic, there's still many who won't... |
Bastards !

Professional or not -- it's simply bad business.
It's akin to retail shops deleting legitimate CANN-SPAM addresses for not purchasing within X amount of time. The cost of the storage space it takes to keep either address (and subsequently the actual PERSON) is simply negligible. |
Why is this such a bad thing? Keeping the open accounts, active means that reps have more time to spend with webmasters that are actively sending traffic. Secondly, "deleting" is more likely to be "changing to inactive status" rather than purging all the data on file - which I agree would be odd.
It's not a totally stupid idea.... |

not only the ones that do that, but how about the ones that close your account because there are too many chargebacks? That happened to me with Gigacash. How the heck am I able to control the amount of chargebacks, when I'm sending them regular run of the mill TGP traffic?
