House DemoRATS Just Voted in Favor of Illegal Aliens VOTING

The DemoRats claim they are against "foreign election meddling."

The facts prove that to be a LIE:

House votes in favor of illegal immigrant voting

House Democrats voted Friday to defend localities that allow illegal immigrants to vote in their elections, turning back a GOP attempt to discourage the practice.

The vote marks a stunning reversal from just six months ago, when the chamber — then under GOP control — voted to decry illegal immigrant voting.

“We are prepared to open up the political process and let all of the people come in,” Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat and hero of the civil rights movement, told colleagues as he led opposition to the GOP measure.

The 228-197 vote came as part of a broader debate on Democrats’ major legislative priority this year, HR 1, the “For the People Act,” which includes historic expansions of voter registration and access, as well as a major rewrite of campaign finance laws.

The measure would have had no practical effect even if it had passed. Illegal immigrants — and indeed noncitizens as a whole — are not legally able to participate in federal elections.

But Republicans had hoped to send a message to localities such as San Francisco, where noncitizens are now allowed to vote in school board elections.

“It sounds like I’m making it up. What kind of government would cancel the vote of its own citizens, and replace it with noncitizens?” said Rep. Dan Crenshaw, Texas Republican.

He pointed to last year’s vote, when 49 Democrats joined the GOP to decry noncitizen voting.

On Friday just six Democrats voted in favor.

A 1996 federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, but there is no prohibition on localities, and indeed a number of jurisdictions allow it, to some extent.

Famously liberal Takoma Park, a small jurisdiction in Maryland, has for several decades allowed noncitizens, including illegal immigrants, to vote in local elections.

Experts say as many as 40 states or territories allowed noncitizen voting dating back to the nation’s founding.

San Francisco in July began allowing noncitizens to vote in school board elections — though they must be parents or legal guardians of students.

----------------------------

DemocRats: Traitors who sell out America every single day. Only 6 Dems voted against this.

Ok that's a valid question. It still lets them vote in local elections. Non-citizens and illegal aliens don't need to be voting. It's outrageous. It also opens up the potential for fraud / mistakes in the federal elections. I'm guessing that when Trump does the voter ID law, he will have Congress mandate that only us citizens can vote in any election.

FEDERAL

Baby steps.. They were voting to allow states to decide.. Which states do you think would decide to do so? How do you think/propose they would keep them from voting in federal elections?

In San Francisco they passed a law that let non-citizens vote in school board elections so long as their child is a student in that school district. This law didn't repeal that or do anything to stop that from happening elsewhere. Now Republicans are freaking out because they somehow think this means illegals can suddenly vote in other elections. In short, it changed nothing and, as per usual, Trumpsters are overreacting. Anything Democrat is terrible, don't you know?

Trumps failing economy continues to unravel the lives of millions of Americans.

"Credit card debt hits record high of $4 Trillion and another signal of weaker demand, the closing of credit cards and other accounts, jumped to its highest level since 2010, while flows into serious delinquency for credit cards rose 5 percent, up from 4.8 percent in the third quarter."

Red flags emerge as Americans' debt load hits another record | Reuters

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Some red flags emerged for the U.S. economy late last year as credit card inquiries fell, student-loan delinquencies remained high and riskier borrowers drove home automobiles, according to a report that could signal a downturn is on the horizon.

The U.S. household debt and credit report, published Tuesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, showed that the overall debt shouldered by Americans edged up to a record $13.5 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2018. It has risen consistently since 2013, when debt bottomed out after the last recession.

While mortgage debt, by far the largest slice, slipped for the first time in two years, other forms of borrowing rose including that of credit cards, which at $870 billion matched its pre-crisis peak in 2008.

Consumer spending accounts for two-thirds of growth in the world’s largest economy and it is expected to hold strong this year even as the overall expansion cools after a hot 2018.

However one sign of consumer demand, credit inquiries, slipped in the second half of 2018 to the lowest level recorded by the New York Fed.

Another signal of weaker demand, the closing of credit cards and other accounts, jumped to its highest level since 2010, while flows into serious delinquency for credit cards rose 5 percent, up from 4.8 percent in the third quarter.

Serious-delinquency flows, a warning bell for economists because they can prelude defaults, spiked in the third quarter for student debt and remained there in the fourth quarter, with 9.1 percent of the $1.5-trillion total debt seriously delinquent.

Yet another economic collapse indicator

"Twice as many farmers in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin declared bankruptcy last year compared to 2008"

Trump Trade War Helps Push Farmers Into Record Number Of Bankruptcies

Hard times for farmers got tougher with President Donald Trump’s trade war. Now Midwestern farmers are filing the highest number of bankruptcies in a decade, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of federal data.

And farmers aren’t hopeful about this year.

Twice as many farmers in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin declared bankruptcy last year compared to 2008, according to statistics from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Journal reported. Bankruptcies in states from North Dakota to Arkansas leaped 96 percent, according to figures from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Farmers are being battered by sinking commodity prices — and stiff tariffs from China and Mexico in retaliation for Trump’s tariffs on imports.

The new 11-nation Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) treaty last year slashed tariffs — but not for U.S. farmers since the Trump administration pulled out of negotiations. That drove customers to farmers and ranchers in competitive countries, like Australia, serving another dunning blow to American operations.

Farmers fear it will take years to rebuild those trading relationships.

According to figures from the U.S. Agriculture Department, farm income last year was about 50 percent of what it was in 2013, the Wisconsin State Farmer reported.

The dairy industry was hopeful about meeting growing demand in China, but now trade is a major stumbling block. “The problem is that both nations have stubborn leaders,” Mark Stephenson, director of dairy policy analysis at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, said at an agricultural forum last week in Madison.

Soybeans were also a major victim. “Agriculture prices live and die by exports. In all commodities, we’re heavily dependent on China, especially for soybeans,” Kevin Bernhardt, agribusiness professor at the University of Wisconsin in Platteville, told the Milwaukee Independent.

Government subsidies to farmers were up 18 percent last year over the previous year, due to the $4.7 billion in tariff aid and $1.6 billion in disaster payments for farmers impacted by hurricanes, floods and other disasters. But it wasn’t enough to stave off the end for some.

Economists are saying this is a big red flag for the failing economy getting worse.

We have over 1,000,000 more people 3 months behind now than we did back in 2010.

I think trump was right when he said the jobs report can be faked something here clearly isn't right what do you think?

A record 7 million Americans are 3 months behind on their car payments, a red flag for the economy

A record 7 million Americans are 90 days or more behind on their auto loan payments, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported Tuesday, even more than during the wake of the financial crisis.Economists warn that this is a red flag. Despite the strong economy and low unemployment rate, many Americans are struggling to pay their bills.

“The substantial and growing number of distressed borrowers suggests that not all Americans have benefited from the strong labor market,” economists at the New York Fed wrote in a blog post.

A car loan is typically the first payment people make because a vehicle is critical to getting to work, and someone can live in a car if all else fails. When car loan delinquencies rise, it is usually a sign of significant duress among low-income and working-class Americans.

The New York Fed said that there were over a million more “troubled borrowers” at the end of 2018 than there were in 2010, when unemployment hit 10 percent and the auto loan delinquency rate peaked. Today, unemployment is 4 percent and job openings are at an all-time high, yet a significant number of people cannot pay their car loan.

Kinda funny....
The Republicans are always talking about getting government out of your life and declaring 'STATES RIGHTS',
but every time you turn around they are doing just the opposite.

Oh... but they like saying it anyway.

The federal government is not allowed to say how states run their elections.
It is a states rights issue.
If a state wishes to allow some localities to allow immigrant population to vote on school boards, it is up to them.
So, if it is happening in your state, yell at your state legislature.

As it stands, no illegals are allowed to vote in State offices or federal offices. this bill does not change that.

at least now we can admit this is how the democrats plan to get new voters. why not just send them absentee ballots to them in their home countries.

NO STATE ALLOWS A NON-CITEZEN TO VOTE FOR STATE OFFICES AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT STILL DOES NOT ALLOW IT IN THOSE SEATS.

The legislation is about a few states that wish to allow some localities non citizens to vote in local initiatives/offices.

The federal government is not allowed to dictate how a state runs their elections.

^^ Seriously! Non-citizens should not be eligible to vote, period. This is common sense! Trump needs to drop the hammer and mandate that all voters must be US citizens with a valid ID.

The federal government is not allowed to make voting rules for the states. only Federal elections.

What some of you should fear if you don't like 'NEW' voters,
Millennials will out number Baby Boomers next year.
And right now they seem a bit restless and are having the largest registration we have seen since the 18 year old right to vote.

Ok, but the federal government could "strongly suggest" that states require all voters to be US citizens with ID, or they will lose federal funding. Why would anyone be against this? They're non-citizens.

call me crazy, but I would rather have legal citizens vote than illegals any day.

and you can sign up all the millennials you want to vote, but they still need to show up to vote and senior citizens still vote in larger numbers.

A complete nutjob calling someone else an idiot while claiming Trump actually lost the presidential election. Oh what a travesty.

I might agree on citizen votes, but it is a state issue and I don't think more than 2 states have allowed 'LOCAL' initiatives to be decided by non-citizens and only if the locals wanted it to be that way for whatever reason.
You would also have to check the states rules for the situations that allow it.

The story was intentional misleading because they knew that you were going to assume everything.
Just a method to keep you hyped-up.

As far as the millennials, it just seems to me that if you were to continue to run your race on projecting everyone else's negatives, you are missing out on the largest voting segment who are not buying it. In fact, they seem to have their own agenda.
Reminds me a bit of the civil rights activism in the 60's and the 18 year old right to vote all reborn with a higher agenda this time. At least they stand for something even if you disagree with them.

I think they have strong opinions because they have seen the suffering of their parents through war, guns and big biz/banks.

In any case, they seem to be trying to label it all as 'socialism' and that may work to make it negative to some baby boomers, but not many.

Just pointing out is most likely is a failed strategy by the numbers.
Right or wrong I am liking the civil engagement. The more folks active in their own governess, the more 'democracy' we have.
