Question for writers

Let's pretend that someone offered you a job updating their website. The work would consist of you going in, looking at the pics/vids of the coming update, and writing a paragraph or four (the writer determining the length) of sexy text. The site updates daily.

What is a reasonable fee to charge for that service?

I would say at least $10 an update.

IMHO, piece-work does not work for writers. If what you want is to develop a "voice" for a blog or frequently updated site, choose someone whose voice you already like, and tell 'em "How much to do THAT over HERE?" --

I concur.

This method will appear to cost you more as you will more than likely be paying more for the service, but it should also result in better conversions and / or retention.

Anyhow, ~ $25.00 per update.

I suppose I wasn't clear in my original post.

Actually, that is what has happened, though I didn't plan it that way. Someone likes something that I write, and wants me to do it for them.

I have no clue what to tell them in regards to compensation.

Very very good point. As a provider of mainstream blog writers, I can vouch for tthe accuracy of this statement. Dedicated specialist writers are The best way to go for single topic blogs.
