Should parents who FORCE their kids to go on a VEGAN DIET be PROSECUTED for CHILD ABUSE?
See thread title
Pro: - it's abuse when you don't give your kids a choice - Forced diet change can lead to health issues Con: - Under current law, parents are given lots of leeway in determining the 'best interest' of their kids - Many research studies indicate that a vegan diet is good for your health - Vegan diets help save the environment due to the extreme unsustainability of meat-based diets

If the kid is malnourished then any parent should be prosecuted

It shouldn't be about the diet but how it is carried out. Vegan diets can be healthy, but they are a pain in the ass to do properly. If the kid is healthy and happy, no worries. And, let's be honest, the kid is probably eating meat at school and at friend's houses.

Says the guy the wouldn't exist without meat. Funny how vegetarians don't understand that their habits are a first world luxury that falls to the waist side on the other 80 percent of the planet..lulz.

Is being vegan bad for you all of a sudden? I'm no fan of the food or the people, but it's far from bad for you from what I know.

Also, you have to find ways to get protein and a lot of people don't do a good job at that. |

My kid is vegan. Meh. I tried it for six months and it was just blah.
But no, parents shouldn't force their kids to be anything.

Some religions are on vegan diets, vegan diets can be the best if you keep up with specific vitamins.
The real concern should be the McDiet, bringing kids to McDonalds and allowing them to drink Coca Cola is the real child abuse. The companies involved should be brought to justice. Pesticide in the food supply is also a big problem, as is fluoride in the water

Thanks for this thread, it reminded me to add a t-bone steak to my grocery list.
As others said if the kids are healthy then no. When I was a kid and went to my dad's house on weekends my stepmom would make me eat spinach and if I didn't eat it I would have to sit there till I did. lol, decades later she told me she was so sorry she did that to me. I would never force my kids to eat any style of diet as long as they are healthy.

Hmm... Should people who are poor be prosecuted because their kids don't know what it is like to eat crustaceans at Red Lobster? Should those who love in war torn countries have their kids removed by the One World Order because their kids aren't eating enough? How about kids in Africa?
