1. Since 1950 the american population went up from 150 million to 350 million (~ +125%)
2. Inflation and CPI went up from 1950 til today + 800%

so if in 1950 the amount was 80 billion and you simply add 125% more popupulation
you would have been already at 200 billion in 1950

if you add to this 200 billion inflation rate and CPI of 800% than you get to a total of 1,6 trillion.

and here you see that this costs went down and not up, you anti-genius.

and if you still not see it than set it in compare to GDP and you see how much the social spendings went DOWN !!!

the problem of all this right wing nutters is that they look at statistics that they can´t understand. they also forget to compare them with the prosperity we gained in the past 50 years.

they want to make a million per month and in the same time they complain that a pack of toast is not 5 cent anymore.
on the other hand they think it is normal that a color TV is now 300 dollars and not 5000 (as it was in the 70s) but are jealous that chinese take their jobs.

with other words: they do not understand the world they live in because they were born with a very graceful little brain and think they are geniuses because they are "the only ones" who have found a way to wipe their own ass.

is is not only this. look in 1980 this stats show 400 billion welfare costs.
the US-GDP in 1980 was 2,86 trillion

so 400 billion in that time represented around 12% of the GDP.

the costs there for 2016 are 1,16 trillion but the US GDP than was 19,3 trillion
so the welfare DROPPED from 12 to 6%

but not enough. if you take the column from 1975-1980 out and scale it up it looks like this:



this is how it would look when we would be still in the same circumstances as in 1975-1980.

but IF the US would still spend 12% from GDP to welfare it would look like this:

I have a friend of mine who is a doctor. She makes $40 per patient visit and sees four patients per hour. That's $160 / hour before any of her expenses - staff, insurance, rent, computers.... In the mean time, HIV medication costs $20 a pill over the counter, but $1200 a pill with medical insurance. How the fuck is that possible?
