Will the UK leave the EU?

https://www.theguardian.com/politics...MCNEWEML6619I2

Long way to go and it looks like MPs want a vote when the UK leaves. This guarantees a bad deal which the MPs can ignore the will of the people and do the undemocratic thing.

All because May called an election, fought a disastrous battle, allowed Corbyn to make promises he couldn't fulfil and could run the country with the SNP as partners. Which would have been a disaster.

In the United Kingdom referenda have only been advisory, because the government says that the people elected to Parliament make the decisions. The referendum on the independence of Scotland was an exception. It was legally binding, but it was not a referendum of the UK electorate. It was restricted to present residents of Scotland.

Not yet. That's what it's about the MP's are wanting to make a vote to overturn the will of the people. Typical UK.

Edit: I'm just going to add in that I voted remain. Difference is I'm one of the few that can accept what the public has said and hope it goes the way the people wanted.

I am really not qualified to speak about Europe in general but.... I never understood why the UK was part of the EU. Although we've always considered England to be part of Europe, physically England and the UK is not part of Europe.

I think the EU in general is a good idea, but it has a few problems that still need to be worked out.

Personally I think the free trade and movement would be better with other commonwealth countries.

Because of the Prime Minister Tony Blair taking us into the EU without asking the people. He had repeatedly said the people would be asked. He lied.

France, Holland and Eire had referendums. They all voted no, France and Holland ignored the result and the politicians went ahead with joining. Eire was told to vote again until they got it right.

The Common Market had already created a free trade area, the EU is to make Europe one country like America. Whether the people want it or not. The politicians do.

Free trade was already in place with the common market, the EU did nothing to change that. Freedom of movement is a disaster for the working class of the richer nations.

as Iīd said from the start of the Brexit shenanigans, either, it takes about 2 years for the disaster to be completed & only then will Britain feel the pinch, not that the interest rates rising this week hasnīt began the hardship. However, Britain may still not leave the EU if the government over turn the decision, for the best of the country.

Itīs not like the government wants to spend billions on a wall, waste money on holidays, they just want a great country, a Great Britain, this of course would be best as part of the EU

I have no idea, you're asking the wrong person. You should ask crockett.

By the way, please point out what is hateful in my posts? I described what the EU does. You just ignore and laugh it away. Which makes you ignorant. I didn't post anything hateful.

You should educate yourself about why the wars in the middle east started, and which role NATO and EU play, then ask yourself why the EU forces its members not to control their national borders. Not even when people are getting slaughtered left and right in European cities: Those national borders seem to be holy for the EU to keep them open no matter what, even at the expense of its own citizens. The EU is directly responsible for every terrorism victim in its member countries.

Yet you laugh at anyone who is pointing this out and is disagreeing with you, and calling them a nazi to shut them up. You should ask yourself who are really acting like the nazis here.

Migration should be determined by skills, wealth and whether the person will add something beneficial to the country. Decades of taking anyone has done nothing but increase the numbers of people who rely on the government in some way.

Great Britain is wealthier in the EU. The people are poorer. There is so much proof of this I wonder why you don't know it.

Stop thinking in terms of countries. Start thinking in terms of people. Then you'll see what a failure the EU has been for the people.

I'm not against the referendum. I was on the side of wanting to stay when the vote came but now that the people have decided I think it should be put to bed and the government should just do what the people decided.

If I had any love or respect for the UK or worse yet Scotland I would try to work towards improving it one way or another. Unfortunately that isn't the case and the only thing I'm working for is to leave.

But I get your point.

I think people must have a choice. EU it is not only about trading. It else about culture enrich and wars but without Britain, this plans will fail. I think EU will be divide UK after leaving like in Scotland referendums etc. It good strategic movement for UK, in tactical level be not so well but after all will be good in future

you live in CZ, which without the EU would look like the Ukraine or Georgia. I'd call that a success.

And despite all shortcomings, and there are plenty, the EU is still the biggest European success story since chasing out the Romans.

Adam, considering its formation was only in the 50īs just 60 odd years ago, with many changes and other countries joining, itīs still new, no one can say such a union is a scam. The Eurofighter was formed & has created no problems unlike the new ship Britain has wasted money on & the new f35īs over heating problems. The EU looked after Britains countrysides, setting money every year to keep Britains countrysides in decent pathways & so much more that people do not realise

Okay, lets have fun with this.
Can you please provide Proof that the E.U. (Not the EEC) is 60 years old.
Can you please provide proof that the E.U. is NOT a scam.
Can you please provide proof that the Eurofighter has anything at all to do with the E.U.
Can you please provide proof that the E.U. paid for the countryside footpaths from money NOT given to the E.U. by Britain in the first place?
